I will wait for the first price drop.(Core System)After all the hype Microsoft blew @ E3 about 1 system, for them to make such an announcement is "shooting themselves in the foot"

Yeah, It may seem like a deal for the Core System, but I'm not ready to blow over $500.00 on this system & a couple of launch titles.

Good Job J Allard.. You biking accident must of knock some screws loose in that big-dome piece of yours.......

Peter Moore believes most people will buy the bundle...or eventually upgrade to utilize the hard drive. Basically the $300 package is for the semi-casual gamer, and the $400 is for everyone else.

The hard drive will be used, do not fear!

It looks like I'll have to put more money down on my deposit @ EB. I am definitely going with the bundle because of the way they priced the accessories. Having a HDD, wireless controller, and HD cables in the bundle sealed the deal for me. It would have been nice if we could use a jump drive or mp3 player as an external memory source since it has USB ports, but I guess it is just wishful thinking on my part.

Well, that seals the deal for me if Microsoft is going to break their promises then I can certainly wait for a price drop. I know I heard them state in one of their press conferences or that video from Allard that they stated every package would be shipped standard with the HDD. That was one of the great benefits of the Xbox this time around and I'm not willing to go an extra $100 for a 20GB HDD, there is no way a 20GB costs that much money. They also stated that wireless would be the standard. Bye bye for now 360 can wait for a price drop for me, I'll stick with this generation for a while longer.

you get a wireless controller and other stuff...someone posted earlier that if you bought all the additional stuff in the bundle alone it'd cost over 500 bucks, so the bundle is a good deal overall

Remember that video Allard did at ourcolony where he specifically stated that every 360 would come with the HDD standard out of the box. How quickly people forget these statements, he didn't specifically say "I promise you" LOL but he did state that every system would come standard with HDD.

Why are people so upset about being given the choice of spending $300 or $400?

The 360 is coming with a hard drive, but its not for $300.

                          What promises?

They said the HDD would ship with the Xbox 360, which it is, just with the premium version. I did however hear them say the wireless controller would come standard, but I guess things change. If you bought the base model, and wanted those accessories that the premium version comes with, you'll be looking at $559.93. It's a good deal, but at the sametime, I think some of the accessories prices are downright criminal.

If people send enough negative feedback Microsoft's way, they might change their minds on some of this, because they did it before.

Whatever, that's what I paid for the Saturn and looked what happened. I'll think I'll wait until both the PS3 and 360 are out and make my decision at that point.

So, everyone wants a next generation system that will be phenominal in every way, able to play advance game technology with screamin graphics.

However, no one wants to pay for it. If you want the best, you have to pay the price. Xbox 360 or PS3.

Deal with it and if you want it, start saving.

I have the money for whatever I want but I have made a decision to only go with one console this generation just because I don't have a bunch of time to devote to gaming anymore and the 360 was definately going to be the choice at 299 and an HDD, all I'm saying now is that why not wait and instead of paying the extra 100 just for the HDD and a wireless controller why not see if the PS3 is really all that and spend the extra 100 on a more powerful system, maybe it won't be better, but now it's a heck of alot easier to wait and see.
