For all of your attempts to call it a First Person Shooter...it certainly is not. If you played this game like you play Call of Duty, you wouldn't make it past the first mission.

    I'm loving it so far.

It is a FPS. FPS can be played in a variety of ways and the COD FPS style doesn't have an monopoly on the term FPS. I am damn good at BIA and playing it in the correct manner. It is just a stale experience and the same "tactical" methods are used almost everytime. Rinse and repeat.

I am glad you are happy, I am not. It is a decent game with issues.

Sorry you aren't happy. We get it. No need to repeat yourself 3 times in the same thread that you don't like the game.

I don't know why COD gets so much praise it's basically a run and gunner. No really thought needed and headsets for online is not needed as you know the layout of the maps and basically know where the action is and the pace is so arcade like. BIA makes you pay for your actions and if you try to rambo it like in COD you'll get know where fast like Auburn says. COD is for casual gamers BIA's is not that's why Socom will probably get trashed as well when it's out because nothing comes easy in these type of games where you have to think before you act.

That's why honestly, I went back to Ghost Recon from Call of Duty because it's a "slower paced" more strategic type of shooter than Call of Duty.

Also...when you play games like Ghost Recon and BIA, you have ONE LIFE. That's it. You play much differently when if you get shot...you're dead. Period.

Thanks, dad. No need to quote my posts then so I don't clutter your amazing thread anymore.

I said my peace. I hopefully helped more OS'ers make an informed decision on buying a game from all angles of subjectivity.

Exactly right but I guess to the casual gamer realism is boring because they want to run and gun with no repercussions for their actions. Some people probably would say hiding behind cover is camping because they want the kills to be easy with no skill. I have been playing the socom beta and love it despite the technical flaws but it is a beta after all but the realism is what I love about it.

BIA is a much better single player game than COD4, but what made COD4 special was the online. Best time i've ever had on Live.

                    Anways, back to BIA.

After playing the first couple of levels, the graphics really are pretty bad, especially when you had to go solo for a bit there inside the house.....outdoors the game looks a bit better, but still not next gen quality at all especially not in late 2008.

Gameplay is real nice though......so if u liked old BIA games , u'll like this one.

So does the gameplay get repetitive? I enjoyed Earned in Blood many years ago, but never finished it as I felt that it was less military strategy and more of a mini-game. I like that it seems to require some well-thought out tactics.

Also, since I enjoyed but never finished Earned in Blood, is it worth the sticker price or should I pick up the original RTH30 or EIB for 5 bucks?

I really hope it is worth it since this type of game really appeals to me

The use of MG squads and bazookas really adds a new element, I like it. I wish I had the bazooka less and the MG more, but overall it's better than EIB and a lot of fun.

I know they are two different games (in terms of strategy and whatnot) but for single-player experience...

                          Battlefield:BC or BIA?

Depends what you want....BC is definantly a run and gunner, fast paced game. BIA is much more challenging IMO because you have to slow it down and analyze the situation. I'm absolutly in love with BIA so I'd say go with it..lol.

BIA gets better and better....man the single player experience is really really fun AND intense. THe more I play it , the more it stands out as an excellent single player experience. Much better than cod4 SP or any war FPS i've ever played save cod 2 . It is on par with cod2 SP in terms of overall experience but this is the more realistic of the 2 of course.

It is pretty obvious the graphics are the reason for the many low scores....

I wish the graphics were better too,but the gameplay is just top notch....and combine that with the great story, acting, camraderie, cutscenes the game offers,We got ourselves a gem.

I have it and it's pretty good. A couple things really bothered me about it though. Like having to clear buildings alone for no reason and that it seems like the A.I. is permantly on defense.

Compared to the original videos I'm kinda dissapointed, and I'm thinking about taking it back and getting Pure.
