Re: Superman Returns
That's great! So do they seem awe-struck when Superman's walking around?
Someone said that it's not possible to take a civilian and then drop them from the highest point in the game?
If it's true, I hope it's possible with the Bizarro side game.Comment

when you do superspeed and hit objects, Superman just ricochets(sp?) off them.Comment

Re: Superman Returns
I'm actually liking it. I love the health system for the city. Love the flying and how everything interacts. It's on my humongous Xmas list...LOL
EDIT - and damn, you can really fly high in the air!Last edited by ExtremeGamer; 11-15-2006, 05:45 PM.Comment

Re: Superman Returns
The demo is entertaining. I'm no fan of Tiburon, but given the scope of the character I'd have to say they mostly captured it. Graphics are sort of blah but a ton of the city is interactive - you can inscribe your initials in the sides of buildings with your heat vision lol. They're health meter approach was smart, tying it to the city. Flying around feels cool. It'll definitely be the definitive Superman game, but don't think I'd drop $60 for itHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

This game has become a must buy for me. Very very fun and the amount of moves Superman can do is very deep.Comment

Re: Superman Returns
Yeah playing the demo its very much spiderman 2 with superman and way better graphics. I think i'll get it but not sure when. I want a Batman game like this.Comment

Re: Superman Returns
Yeah if a batman game was made like this where you could drive the batmobile around the city or use your grappleing gun to get around the city that would be tight!Comment

Re: Superman Returns
Played the demo for a bit last night and I thought it was a blast.
The controls are rediculously easy to get used to and some of the stuff you can pull off are awesome.
I blew up a Gas Station using my heat vision and a crap load of citizens and cars went flying.
Then I burned a dirty wird into the side of a building using my heat vision.
This game is a blast. I suggest to anyone that likes Superman or fun action games to at least try the demo.Comment

Team XBOX = 6.7

The Bottom Line
There are fun moments to be had when playing Superman Returns: The Videogame, but I never really felt that I was playing a complete game during my time with it. I’m guessing the team ran under some time constraints and had to push Superman Returns: The Videogame out the door before it was fully optimized.
In terms of actual gameplay features, the sprawling city is amazing, but there’s little else to rave about here. If you are a huge fan of Superman, then by all means pick this one up ASAP. Those looking for a comic book game in the third-person style will want to check out either of the Spider-Man games first, or The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. These are better games overall than Superman Returns: The Videogame, and deserve a look before taking flight with the Man of Steel.Comment

Re: Superman Returns
IGN gives it 5.5
Closing Comments
Although this could be called the best Superman game yet, Superman Returns is among the most disappointing. EA did very well with Superman’s powers, and flying and freezing and blowing and heating are each fun in their own way. But Superman is more than the sum of his powers; he is defined too by his alter ego Clark Kent, by his romance with Lois Lane, and by his archenemy Lex Luthor. All of these are absent in the gameplay of Superman Returns. That, coupled with mindless and monotonous action, as well as average graphics and sound are more damning blows to the world’s favorite superhero than ten tons of kryptonite. While the open world is supposed to let you do whatever you like, there just isn’t anything to do in Metropolis. Punching out bad guys becomes about as fun as taking out the garbage, and the “epic” battle between Superman and the forces of evil is as simple and dull as a day of chores. It could be argued that this game should be recommended to hardcore Superman fans, but it’s clear to me that those are the ones that will least enjoy this lackluster effort. EA was on to something in Superman Returns, but barely tapped the surface.
