Zzzz..if people were waiting, they dont have to get a 360, get your money back if its that big of a deal....I think to most its not a big deal, even if it is..it isnt a big deal to me so I dont care.

You can get $60 store credit for your old Xbox. That'll get you a shiny NEW Xbox 360 game... and I'll take it, as will most others I'd wager.

At EB I got 68 plus 20% if I traded it in by yesterday, which game me aroud 81 bucks. Sounds good to me instead of collecting dust.

Yeah, they sure dropped the ball. Only sold, what 3 million consoles already or something? That sure is bad. I think I'll trust that Microsoft knows how to market and prepare for software and console releases better than anyone. They know exactly what they're doing and have it planned out very well.

People aren't going to not buy an xbox 360 because of backwards compatibility. That's just an EXTRA service they're doing. They don't OWE us that at all as it's a completely new system built on new hardware and technology.

And the shortage? Sure, it's marketing, but it's good marketing. This is the holiday season. Don't be fooled if you don't think Microsoft is going to have consoles EVERYWHERE in time for the xmas shopping season. They're no dummies here....

Please explain. You keep making these huge claims and never backing them up or explaining them. If you are a collector wouldn't you keep the system that the game was made for anyway?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I concider myself a "Hardcore gamer" and if I need to play older games I play them on the original system they were designed for. There has been no "tricking" etc. They've said from the beginning that they would not have BC on all games. The list will grow over time.

I never go backwards when a new system comes out so I don't care about backwards compatibility. Anyways, one good thing is all games will be upscaled to 720p or 1080i so they will looke better on the 360 than they did on the regular xbox.
