So it's $599 and $699 Canadian. As suspected I won't be buying it for a long damn time,if at all.

I mean, games from EA and 2k are only going to be ports across the Ps3 and 360, so if you are going to buy sports games 90% of the time (Hell, I only have Oblivion and COD2, only two non-sport games I have for all my systems. I just rent those other games because you beat them and get tired of them.) for sports, 360 is the way to go now simply because Sony's price is uh...a bit TOO steep for me right now.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Last time I spent 600 on a console was 3do and I promised myself I would never do that again. I'd actually been looking forward to the PS3 but there is no way I'm buying the nerfed 500 version and there is no way I'm spending 600. If I get anxious to spend some cash on a new console, I may actually look at the wii, something I haven't even considered buying up until now.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Gamespot has a video with Jeff Gerstmann up on his reactions after the conference and getting to play some games. Here are some things:
*Said the games look amazing for being first titles for a new machine
*Tilt effects in Warhawk are "surprisingly great"
*Controller is VERY light and good
*Resistance is very sharp, doesn't "feel" at all like BLACK
*Developers just got the new PS3 controller
*Too expensive
*MGS4 Trailer amazing
*Resistance and Warhawk best of the games he played
He seems impressed, but not blown away. Since the controller was just finalized I imagine no other games will be utilizing it besides Warhawk.Comment

I believe we will get the final specs on the PS3 at the TGS. The price will not change but you will see the final specs. So if you look at the Sony pic of the consoles you will see "subject to change without notice" so I will not put stock into it just yet.Comment

Not getting a PS3, and I think Sony's making a horrible mistake with the 2 systems (even worse than MS did with the Core/Premium 360's). If Sony has people at OS, that is people who love to throw their money at these companies without thinking twice, not getting a PS3 or unsure, imagine what the total casual gamer's gotta be thinking. No way will the majority of those gamers shell out 600 bucks for the system.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Looking at the official press site of SCEA, we noticed that the PS3 with the 20 gigabyte hard drive seemed to lack HDMI support. This seems to be confirmed by an offical press release from SCEA, which indicates via comparison between the two systems. However, it also indicates that the 20 gigabyte system won't have Memory Stick, SD or Compact Flash reading capability or WiFi support. Even worse, it appears that rumble doesn't appear to be included with the new six axis sensing controller.
Could the 20 gig become a gamer shunned system? When Microsoft launched the Xbox 360, consumers hated the Core system that didn't come with a hard drive and other features, quickly dubbing it the "tard pack." Will the 20 gig suffer the same fate? We'll have more details as we get them from the show.
$499 PS3:
-20 GB HDD
-No HDMI
-No Media Reading Capability (MS, SD, or CF)
-No WiFi Support
-No Rumble Feature in controller
-Wired Controller
This is missing a lot of features and no HDMI, what are they thinking.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Wow, no one seems to be satisfied with the price. I had told some of my friends and one of them goes..."So...is the 360 any good?"
Sony is literally giving Nintendo and M$ open shots. If one of the two companies fail to capitalize on this then oh well. I am sure Nintendo will benefit more than M$ though.Comment
