thanks fishepa. I thought maybe I got the thread locked with my little wisecrack there at the end.
Anyways, it was tough trying to keep up with all the info had been posted and what not. Very crowded thread.
Lets hope that Sony will give us some "concrete" information to get this thread heading in the right direction and passed the speculations.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Not sure if this qualifies as "concrete", but I saw this article today that looks more and more like a delay may be in the works. Or is this a power play on Sony's part to move the industry specifications forward. Thoughts?

I doubt they would have a power play that hurts their stock.DON'T PANICComment

I know a lot of people aren't happy with no new info at the moment, but I'm sure what's to come is going to be better than we hoped for. I really don't think there is much to speculate about anymore. Everything has been beaten to death with a bat, and then some.Comment

Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Sony says Merrill Lynch Wrong in PS3 Report
Posted Feb 23, 2006, 4:22 PM ET
Sony completely denies Merrill Lynch report of a PS3 delay, and said the report itself was mostly fabricated
It took us a couple of days to get this report out, as GameSHOUT had to confirm things with Sony beforehand. Sony Corporation is fighting back against PS3 rumors that were started from a Merrill Lynch & Co. report last week. In the report, Merrill Lynch stated that the Sony PlayStation 3 would be short of a spring launch and therefore delayed.
A Sony spokesperson said that some of the pricing quotes used by Merrill Lynch are completely bogus, since neither they nor any other firm know the exact assembly cost for the PS3. And, that a PS3 delay is "completely nonsense."
When we asked Sony what the price was to make the machine, we were told, "Sony doesn't comment on the machine's price," which is what we were expecting. In other words, how can Merrill Lynch quote pricing on components if they don't even know?
We also found out yesterday that Sony is indeed; ready to launch games for the PS3 in Spring 2006 with the video game machine. Other major game developers such as Capcom are not committed on a Spring launch for their games, which has started another rumor that PS3 is not going to launch in the Spring.
Sony has kept their release date, and through all the Internet fuss and web sites that are reporting delays, they have kept to their original launch schedule.
Kei Sakaguchi, a Sony spokesman in Tokyo said, "There is no change in our original plan to release the console in spring 2006 in Japan." while the Merrill Lynch report by Joe Osha stated that Sony may start selling the PlayStation 3 in Japan in autumn and by late 2006 or early 2007 in the U.S.
Sony is aware that any delay would give more selling advantages to both Microsoft Xbox 360 and the upcoming Nintendo Revolution.
Sony is banking on the Blu-ray high-definition DVD format and the faster Cell chip for the PS3.
Microsoft loses about $153 on each Xbox 360, which retails for between $299 and $399, researcher iSuppli Corp. said. The Xbox 360 went on sale in November last year.
Nintendo's Revolution console may sell for less than $300 and will go on sale before Thanksgiving in November, said Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president marketing for Nintendo America.
Costs for making the PlayStation 3 may drop to $320 in three years, according to Osha.
When I first read that ML report, it didn't sound right which is why I dismissed it as bogus. C'mon Sony, give us some more.Comment
