Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
At IGN it states that the PS3 multi out interface will use the same cables that you used with the PS2 so if you already have component or s-video you should be able to reuse them. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/738/738409p1.htmlComment

If you have HDMI connection, you can easily get cables for like $5-$10 and since its an all digital signal, you shouldnt have to worry about loss of quality.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
The PS3's launch list sucks. I'm # 11 out 16 at GS and was heading out now to pay it off along with RR7 & COD3 but i'm thinking now that i'll just pay off the system and cancel RR7 & COD3. That way, if I do get the system at launch I may just ebay it.
Still havent decided. I'm hearing a lot of "meh" when it comes to people who have played the PS3. I understand and wasnt really expecting it to be better than the 360 especially this early in the game but i'm now not as pumped up as I was before. That and since there really isnt anything at launch thats a MUST HAVE it may be ebayed and i'll wait until I can just walk into Bestbuy and grab it off the shelve along with something thats worth playing.
Now the Wii is a different story. I'm #5 out of 11 for that and I cant WAIT to get that system! Looks like just plain old FUN! Madden may be actually fun this time around
I'll make up my mind once the PS3 is in my hands."Because he's the hero Gotham deserves...but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him...because he can take it...because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...the Dark Knight."Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
IGN hands on with the PS3:
PS3: the controller. Prepare to be shocked though: we don't really like it all that much. True enough, you can go along with Phil Harrison's proclamation that it's already the industry-standard controller amongst umpteen-million gamers around the globe, but, arguably, that doesn't make it the best. Personally, we can't help but feel that the SIXAXIS (as it's now known) has been sadly neglected when viewed alongside the rest of the PS3. Compared to Microsoft's uber-comfortable Xbox 360 pad, the SIXAXIS feels cheap, plasticky, uncomfortable and disconcertingly light - almost as if it's going to fly out of your hands during those more extreme gaming moments.
More worrying still, the newly-designed lower L and R shoulder triggers feel more like they belong on an early controller prototype than the near-final model. Replicating the 360 pad, rather than being simple shoulder-mounted buttons, the triggers are now hinged horizontally along the controller, with pressure forcing them inward along the bottom - like triggers then, really. Trouble is, they're placed almost unnaturally low meaning we found ourselves operating them by jamming our fingers in between the hinges to apply pressure, rather than using the buttons themselves.
What's more, the triggers are convex, with no grooves to keep your fingers in place - an issue further compounded by their smooth finish, offering no resistance against your finger tips. Invariably we found our digits slipping off with the triggers snapping back to their default position. Bah. Of course, the PS2's Dual Shock pad wasn't without its faults either but we still learned to live with it. It's just a shame that Sony hasn't used its resources to bring its controller up to next-gen standards along with its cutting-edge hardware.Comment

Well it's been my theory all along. Sony expects the loyalists to buy em up regardless of what they put out.Joshua:

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
I thik Sony already has a mockup controller with Rumble in the works where they don't have to pay Immersion for the technology. They recently said the reason they excluded Runble in the controller was because they did not want to overcharge their customers as the controller would be expensive.
Also Logitech which makes THE BEST aftermarket controllers i'm sure will have their line of PS3 controllers in the works that are Bluetooth and Rumble ready.
Honestly the PS3 controller was the only thing that held me back from buying one when I heard they would not put in Rumble.Comment

I don't have stock in either company, so I don't care who wins the "war". I want the best price and best games. If that ends up being Sony, then I'll get a PS3. But right now it's not for me, nor does it look like it will any time soon.Comment

But at the same time, you've said over and over again how much you want one. People want it for the Sony name alone. Not singling you out, but there are many others on here who wanted the thing before games or specs were even announced.

With every generation, I've bought every console out at that time to enjoy all the games. It just seems the older we get, the much harder it is to enjoy like we used to with these companies making some boneheaded decisions + were older and if we don't agree with a companies tactics with think twice.
I want a Wii also, but that controller doesn't have me 100% sold yet. I need to play the system at one of the kiosks to test out. I know it is something that I could really get used to and I'm making a bigger deal than need be.
With the 360, I've never been happier with a console, well except for the Dreamcast.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 Information, hardware, games discussion Part II
Don't buy the PS3, I'm not touching it with a 10' pole. I mean they are forcing blu ray on us and the controller is crap. The launch games are weak and they are all ports from X360. I warning everyone in advance, to not get the PS3 if you have an X360. Don't blow your extra $100 or $200 on the PS3, when you can get the same with the 360.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
