what's the best way to build up your planes and unlock the more advanced ones? do the campaign? the standalone modes? the arcade modes? It's obvious you can't do that well online with just a stock plane. Thanks for the help.
You have to finish the campaign with at least a veteran/elite rating on all the missions to unlock all the planes.

Then you have to do the mini-campaign to upgrade the firepower on all your planes.

Next, complete the arcade mode with all the planes to get a further stat increase.

Finally do the Ace Duel to get the ace package for your plane.

Hey guys, I haven't seen this covered yet so I will ask. I know there is no cockpit view but can you at least change to a view where only your reticle is on the screen like in a FPS game? Your gauges and whatever else you need would be on the bottom or corner of the screen.

No, but you do have to do the campaign to unlock planes; after that it's up to you.

I'm still stuck on that Midway Mission. I can get the first wave of planes, and most of the second, but a few still sneak thru and bomb the airfield. Any tips Texan?

No, but honestly with the camera on you don't really miss it much.
