Me and Texan were in an 8 player dogfight (Texan is excellent BTW and saved my rear more times than I care to mention) and it was really loads of fun. I'm not very good at flying but I did all right. If you're on the fence on this one, get off the fence and go to a gamestore and pick it up or at the very least rent it. I can't speak for the singleplayer as I only did the training mission, but the multiplayer is top notch.
Dave, I picked this one up yesterday. I'm in ATL but I'll be back in God's country by tonight. Look for me around 10pm est and we'll do some co op. Texan, EG look for me too. Texan, send me a FR, RockyTop1

Abates, I should be on by midnight when I get off from work and hopefully we can get a server full.

I'm this >< close to picking this one up today.
the multiplayer sounds right up my alley.

Oblivion and GRAW though too with BF2 on the horizon... I'm gonna be dizzy

You can't begin to imagine how much fun this game is online. I've played about 1 hour of campaign play and 15 hours of online play. It is a blast. Gamespot and IGN should've given it a ratings boost for online play alone.

This game is a ton of fun online, Dave and I were playing earlier and had a blast. I think I've spent some 20 hours the past weekend just playing this game online. We should try to set up a 3-on-3 dogfight sometime.

You guys are gonna make me break down and get this. Like I have any time to play this AND Oblivion...

Is the single player at all worth it, or is it just too repetitious? Also, can you use Axis planes in a single player (non-campaign) mode? I love me some A6M Zero action...

What are the other single player modes?

This is the only game that's pulled Oblivion out of my 360 for small stints. I've logged 5 straight days of Oblivion, and a couple hours of Blazing Angels. Good stuff, I'm sure I'll get into it at some point.

I only got to the third mission or so and it wasn't repetitive yet, so I can't give a full opinion on the SP mode. There's an arcade mode offline as well as a mini campaign mode which is playable after you finish the regular campaign. The only downside I've seen to the single player is "Joe" I muted him rather quickly.

I won't be up that late, so I'll have to miss out tonight. I gotta get up at 6:45am M-F, so I'm at least gonna try to get some sleep to start out the week. I've spent the last hour or so workin on this damn transfer kit. Look for me tmrw though.

Texan, I got your request to play, but I was still in the training mission, so I didn't figure it would be a good idea to hop online just yet.

I got the 2nd to last mission on SP mode, and I didn't find the game repititious at all.

I'm finding the IGN and Gamespot reviews on this game to be worthless, mainly because they said the game was too easy, and trying to get Ace ranking on every mission is difficult. Not to mention the levels get harder as you advance.

I haven't tried the other SP modes yet so I can't comment on them.

But in al reality this game shines on live, it's really the only way to play.

Just as a follow up you couldn't be any more wrong here; there is a big online community for this so far.

So far I've never had a problem finding a match, and the ones I've been in have all been a blast. Plus, I've met a lot of cool people online with no assjocks.

IMO if you pass this game up you're missing out on a lot of fun on XBL.
