i've had game freezes with nba 2k6, pretty much it happened every other day during important games. Since have the intercooler i haven't had any freezes since! There goes my sales pitch.

I'm now getting worried about NCAA's release and the inevitable long play times I'm going to be going through.

I would rather play it safe with an intercooler than risk blowing out a system.

I had a number of Oblivion crashes before. I'm going to start playing that game again soon so I'll give a report then

I've read that after the Oblivion patch on Xbox Live some users were experiencing crash problems. I don't know if you fall into this category. That's why I have not updated my game.

If you mean the one that looks like a book case, that one I have not tried. What I do like about the Intercooler 360 is that it naturally pulls air the same way the stock fans do. Except it sucks in a lot more air and blows it out the back faster, hence you create more circulation, which in turn will help keep your machine run cooler.

I say this again for the record. I have a launch machine that has been perfect with and without the Intercooler 360. It's added protection as in it won't harm the 360 if anything it could only help with heat issues.

IMO it should be on your must buy list if you don't have an extended warranty with MS or the store you bought it from.

It just seems like all it comes down to preference. The Pelican seems pretty solid so far, but we havent had any "extended" amount of play on the 360 yet.

Thanks Matrix. One drawback that I see with the Pelican version is that your 360 has to sit upright at all times.

I think that both do the job that they were intended to accomplish, just the intercooler keeps the system a few degrees cooler.

From what I have read they both seem to work pretty good, I think the Intercooler not only works a little better, but also looks better. Unless the fan is annoyingly loud I think i'll pick up that one.

The fan can be annoying at the beginning, but you learn to tune it out after enough play on the 360. That's one of the things that I hate about the intercooler, it's the noise level from the fans.

thats why we have the hdtv and 5.1 dolby surround sound to distract us from the fans!hehehe
