Nintendo milks its franchises, but at least its franchises, especially Zelda, are outside the shooter-sports-racing realm. I like those genres very much, but I also like to have choices outside of them. Nintendo offers more of them, especially on its handhelds.

See any quirky titles like Nintendogs on the Xbox or PS3? Didn't think so.

Also IMO Zelda and Mario have been different experiences game to game. Ocarina was different than Wind and Wind seems different then Twilight. Sunshine was different then the Mario 64....etc. I cannot wait for the Wii.

My partner is gonna love it!!

She loves her DS like crazy and even though she enjoys Xbox (she did finish Halo 2 from start to finish on easy mode), we'll have so much fun with stuff like Trauma Center, Wii Sports - Golf, Tennis and Baseball, Wario etc.

I've got mine pre-ordered and apart from Live on 360, this is really what I'm waiting for!

How (and where) did you pre-order it? No one around here will do it until the price is announced.

Admiral we are going to need you to spill this classified intel.

Aussie stores are taking pre-orders already. (maybe because Nintendo hinted that, like the DS Lite, the Wii will actually launch in Australia before the USA).

No price is given, but from where I got the pre-order ticket in picture, the Nintendo rep has said to expect $350 AU which is about $260 US. It may be a little less.

This store is doing $600 worth of vouchers on Wii products while our ToysRUs are giving a free game with every pre-order.

Damn, Aussies have it nice. In the states we aren't given a free game with a pre-order, but are sometimes forced to buy some crappy bundle if we want a console at launch. I'd love a free copy of Zelda with my Wii pre-order.

You and me both on a free copy of Zelda, and that is a pretty sweet deal a free game when you preorder a Wii

I need a drool cup every time I watch that video. Yeah, the graphics aren't that great, but the gameplay looks fantastic, especially with the controller. I play games for gameplay, not graphics.

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion

Between Zelda and Red Steel alone this may be one of the most exciting launches ever.

Something interesting about the Wii is it will challenge the notion of fun/gameplay vs HD graphics. If the Wii can last four-five years it will send a strong message. The machine will need some excellent titles to help it last that long.

Edit: Has anyone heard anything about a new Castlevania game for the Wii? It seems like the Wii would be a perfect fit for controling the Belmont whip.

There was a Frito Lay Baseball challenge outside a local Wal-mart today. There is a huge screen with video clips of various baseball players and you throw pitches to the virtual stars trying to strike them out (damn me and my wussy 46MPH FB). The experience got me thinking about how great a real BB title would be on the Wii. I know Sega has the only game in town for a licensed game...and I know it kind of stunk this year...but it would be cool if they implemented pitching and batting mechanics with the Wii controller.

                          BTW I walked Jeter.

I wouldn't worry about a 46 mph fastball--those guns are always WAY off. Like 20 to 30 mph off, and a lot of them top off at 60.
