Red Steel looks good to me, but it's a pity it won't have online multiplayer.

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Wii fans, this is going to be a huge month for you. I think the September 14 event -- now just two weeks away -- will be bigger than E3 for Wii lovers, and the coverage/news isn't likely to stop flowing after that. If we've been in something of a drought, rest assured that the storm is coming.

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Another launch game announced - Splinter Cell!
Based upon the PS2 and GC versions and enhanced from there for the Wii
The graphics look pretty good for the so called weak system, so let's hope Ubisoft make some innovative and fun new gameplay with the new controllers.

Your questions answered. Wii game screens and, yes, a photo of the steering wheel attachment!

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Maybe the Nintendo execs had a few drinks with the Sony execs since then, and both convinced each other than lying about aspects of their respective launches -- worldwide simultaneous launch for PS3, less than $250 price point in the U.S. for the Wii -- was OK.
Take care,

I'm no graphics' whore, but you're right, Scott: Those screenshots are wretched. It barely even looks like a PSX game.
The steering wheel peripheral is very cool, though. Wonder how much more that will tack on to the retail price of the game.
Take care,

Yeah, I can't believe that's the actual screen shot. Red Steel, the earlier shots of Splinter Cell, Mario, etc, all look great. That game looks like garbage.Comment

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Yikes, that's higher than expected if true. What happened to the promise by Nintendo execs at E3 that the Wii would launch in the U.S. for less than $250? And what about the rumors of $199?

If it breaks $250 I'd be surprised - and if it hits $250, I think it might be bundled with a second controller, to further the multi-player party game atmosphere of Wii sports and the like.
Regardless of price, it will probably be the only system in my house this holiday season - I sold the ol' xBox in May and I'm gettin the gaming bug back big time.Comment

Re: Nintendo Wii (Revolution) Information, hardware, games discussion
Sure, Nintendo has repeatedly said that gameplay will be emphasized over graphics with the Wii. But you're right, Scott: All of the other games look almost as good or as good as many Xbox games, which I think is enough for many gamers since that's all Nintendo promised.
But this game? Holy sh*t, it looks awful. I work in PR, and I would hope my boss would ream me on the spot if I was responsible for releasing those screens. Hell, the peripheral is enough to jazz people. Just release shots of that and work on brushing up the graphics of the game before issuing the screens.
Take care,
