Xbox - $85-$95
Controllers $30 ($15ea.)
Games $20
PS2 goes for about the same used if it's the Slim PS2 less if it's the original. You're looking at about $30 games and $30 for the controllers.Comment

Originally posted by caseydThanks for the info. I tend to prefer XBox over Playstation, and am definitely limiting myself to one next gen console, so it's either 360 or staying with the XBox. I guess I'll decide that as I sleep. lol

With the wireless controllers, I sold my Logitech also 1 week ago for $27 with shipping.
It comes down as to how you market these items on there and luck sometimes with the buyers.Comment

Casey:
I would wait for a possible price cut, especially since you say you're not gaming as much as before. Oblivion isn't going anywhere; it's going to be available whether you buy a 360 next week or next fall.
Plus I still don't think the 360 games library is that robust, especially for sports games. Great graphics, but stripped-down franchise, create-a-player and management features, which is pretty much standard for the first generation of games for any new system. A lot more games are coming down the pipe, and second-gen games always focus more on gameplay than the "screw the gameplay; graphics are king" first-gen games, so why not wait?
I assume you're a football fan. Why don't you wait until late summer or early fall and get it then, when the next Madden and the first NCAA for the 360 are released. By then, there will be a more robust sports library and even more quality titles for other genres.
I could see buying one now if you were playing games more than ever. But why drop the coin now if you're not playing as much?
Plus I'm still scared that consoles on the shelves now will have many of the defects that plagued the launch units. Hell, only about 20 percent of the people I know who purchased launch consoles or consoles near launch still have their original machine. The rest all broke, and they're on their second or third replacement unit.
Best of luck in your decision! But 500 bones when you're only REALLY jazzed for one game -- Oblivion -- isn't worth it, in my opinion. Think of other things that you REALLY like to do outside of gaming or other people with whom you could do cool things such as an awesome road trip, and consider if the coin would be better spent there.
Take care,

Casey,
Ignore this poison talk.
MUST OPEN YOUR SYSTEM
Im only kidding PK
You make a valid point about a road trip.
BUT, it's like a road trip when you're gaming.

Re: Should I get it (XBox 360) as an impulse buy?
Guys, I appreciate all the input. The unopened package is still sitting on my kitchen table. I always do this. I'm extremely conservative when it comes to spending money on non-necessities, so I end up buying something and it sits there unopened for a week before I finally decide to open it or not. I'll probably make a decision by tomorrow. I'd get it for more than just Oblivion. GRAW and COD look great as well. Although, the lack of a baseball or really good golf game bums me out.
Even my wife told me to open it. She told me I work hard and deserve it. I guess I should take that as a sign..lolMario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

Casey:
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, do you honestly think you're going to get an unbiased answer in gaming forum filled with videogamers? That's like asking addicts in a crack house whether you should buy your next fix ...
I don't doubt that the 360 is a nice system. But I also know that few who spent $500 on a video game console who have even the slightest bit of disappointment with the system or games library are going to admit it in a public forum. That's not a slam on anyone; it's human nature: Everyone puffs their chest with pride over their new purchase, whether it's real or not.
Have you asked any of your non-gaming friends if you should open it? You might get a more unbiased answer there. The input of those who own or have played the system is important, don't get me wrong. But it's nice to have feedback from those who don't game, either.
Good luck. Enjoy the system if you open it!
Take care,
