hey guys, how much do you think i could get for my xbox +2 controller S+ dvd pack+ nfl 2k5, mvp 2005, and SC2? i'm thinkin i want a 360, but i'm not sure, since there are a couple games i want(CoD2, Oblivion) and games i want in the future(Too Human, GoW, Halo 3), hmm, i seem to be convincing my self. anyways, how much do you guys think i would get for that setup? also, is there any reason not to sell my ps2 + controllers+RE4+GTA SA? how much could i get for that?

Off the top of my head about $125-$145 for everything

      Xbox - $85-$95
      Controllers $30 ($15ea.)
      Games $20

PS2 goes for about the same used if it's the Slim PS2 less if it's the original. You're looking at about $30 games and $30 for the controllers.

Rod, I sold my xbox 2 weeks ago for $115 with only 1 controller and HD cables before shipping.

With the wireless controllers, I sold my Logitech also 1 week ago for $27 with shipping.

It comes down as to how you market these items on there and luck sometimes with the buyers.

If it's the slim PS2, you might get more than the fatty PS2. Again, it depends what you package with it.

                Casey:

I would wait for a possible price cut, especially since you say you're not gaming as much as before. Oblivion isn't going anywhere; it's going to be available whether you buy a 360 next week or next fall.

Plus I still don't think the 360 games library is that robust, especially for sports games. Great graphics, but stripped-down franchise, create-a-player and management features, which is pretty much standard for the first generation of games for any new system. A lot more games are coming down the pipe, and second-gen games always focus more on gameplay than the "screw the gameplay; graphics are king" first-gen games, so why not wait?

I assume you're a football fan. Why don't you wait until late summer or early fall and get it then, when the next Madden and the first NCAA for the 360 are released. By then, there will be a more robust sports library and even more quality titles for other genres.

I could see buying one now if you were playing games more than ever. But why drop the coin now if you're not playing as much?

Plus I'm still scared that consoles on the shelves now will have many of the defects that plagued the launch units. Hell, only about 20 percent of the people I know who purchased launch consoles or consoles near launch still have their original machine. The rest all broke, and they're on their second or third replacement unit.

Best of luck in your decision! But 500 bones when you're only REALLY jazzed for one game -- Oblivion -- isn't worth it, in my opinion. Think of other things that you REALLY like to do outside of gaming or other people with whom you could do cool things such as an awesome road trip, and consider if the coin would be better spent there.

                Take care,
                PK

You make a valid point about a road trip.
BUT, it's like a road trip when you're gaming.

Pk has his opinion, but Casey I would open the system man. The 360 is great, and I don't know where specualtion of a price cut is coming from. A price cut may not happen for a few years. Like he says, I wouldn't buy a system just for Oblivion. Never buy a system just for one game, you will end up regretting your purchase if the game doesn't live up to expectations.

Good luck on what you do. So far I love my system as much as my old xbox.

Guys, I appreciate all the input. The unopened package is still sitting on my kitchen table. I always do this. I'm extremely conservative when it comes to spending money on non-necessities, so I end up buying something and it sits there unopened for a week before I finally decide to open it or not. I'll probably make a decision by tomorrow. I'd get it for more than just Oblivion. GRAW and COD look great as well. Although, the lack of a baseball or really good golf game bums me out.

Even my wife told me to open it. She told me I work hard and deserve it. I guess I should take that as a sign..lol

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, do you honestly think you're going to get an unbiased answer in gaming forum filled with videogamers? That's like asking addicts in a crack house whether you should buy your next fix ...

I don't doubt that the 360 is a nice system. But I also know that few who spent $500 on a video game console who have even the slightest bit of disappointment with the system or games library are going to admit it in a public forum. That's not a slam on anyone; it's human nature: Everyone puffs their chest with pride over their new purchase, whether it's real or not.

Have you asked any of your non-gaming friends if you should open it? You might get a more unbiased answer there. The input of those who own or have played the system is important, don't get me wrong. But it's nice to have feedback from those who don't game, either.

Good luck. Enjoy the system if you open it!

                            Take care,

                                Casey:

                                Take care,
                                PK
Yeah, all my friends that don't have XBoxes are telling me to open it too. The overwhelming opinion seems to be go for it. For those that have an optical audio cable from the original XBox, does that cable work with the 360? I think they're pretty standard, so it should.
