I was afraid this was gonna happen...

I haven't touched the two games i purchased with the 360 because i am having so much damn fun with the live arcade games. Geometry wars is freakin addicting. So are a bunch of the other games. Allowing you to try them out before you buy is also an excellent idea.

Xbox live is just awesome; but i am guessing i should try out GRAW and burnout eventually

PGR3 is sick if your into border line sim/arcade racing. The visuals are off the charts as the cities all look photorealistic. The only downside to PGR3 is that you only get the Super Cars. So they are a handful but once you get past the learning curve you're good to go.

My advice protect your investment buy The Intercooler 360. Metro will point the way for ya, he's also big on this device. Happy gaming and congrats.

Looking into maybe buying the core system, as I don't have enough time for live. But, can I use my old Xbox composite cables on the 360?

At this point, even if you werent going to get on live for online play, i would recommend it for the live arcade. It's got great 5 and 10 single player games. Hell they have gauntlet and Joust!!

If you think at any point down the road you'll want a hard drive... faster loading, more game saves, etc... then spend the extra $100 on the premium.

You'll end up spending another 40 on top of the core to get a memory card.
That extra 60 would get you the Hard Drive and a Wireless controller with the system.

casey, yeah, Walmart will let you exchange it even without a receipt. I got a free game from Microsoft due to my system crapping out on me. I took it to WalMart, exchanged it for Oblivion, got WalMart to pricematch CompUSA on Oblivion, so I got Oblivion for free, and they gave me a $5 bill, lol.

All in all, it worked out wonderfully.

Bacardi, like Rod said...check the intercooler out. It is worth the $20 and it may prolong the life of your 360.

Old xbox1 cables can't be used on the 360.

Buy the premium, it's worth more than the $60 you would technically spend on it if you to just get the core and a memory card.

here is my 360 story.........

launch night i get my 360, works for 2 weeks and then poops out...

sent it in to microsoft and they sent me a brand new one, 2 weeks poops out..

send that one back and then send me the same one back etc saying it was fixed, WRONG wouldnt even load one game let alone go to the dash board (even with hard drive off the system) i asked why t hey sent it back and they tried saying it was a 2nd gen 360 but i wasnt stupid. i said it has a black mark on the side where i bumped it putting into my entertainment center. they had no comment.

so i call and finally go nuts b/c 3 360's and none work for me boooooooooo they said all they can do is send out the repair kit again blah blah. so that means a week or 2 more without a 360.

so i called walmart after the last call to microsoft and they just got 10 systems in. i tell my story about my calls to microsoft, they send come on in and they will replace it for me. they asked if i had the receipt and i said no, i dont even have the receipt from me filling my gas tank up last night

the lady was like you bought it on launch night here right? i was like oh yeah i was one of the diehards

(although i was in line, it was at eb at 12am)

i coulda kept my hard drive b/c they didnt open the box at all. but they exchanged it and my 4th 360 since launch works great. no problems etc!!

edit: just called microsoft and they are sending me a plug and play and PGR3

i will then take that game and exchange it at walmart also!!

I'm in. Bought the Premium 360 w/ Oblivion today.

Pretty impressed so far and I love how you can grab demos. Fight Night looks absolutely amazing and I'm about to try Madden for the first time.

I purchased the intercooler from a local gamestop near my house. What a difference as far as the temperature of the air coming out of the 360.

I am a little bit pissed though that we have to buy an additional accessory to help the air circulate in the machine. Microsoft should add the intercooler to the package for free.
