Re: PS3 Too Cheap -- Kutaragi
I thought I saw an interview with Kutaragi shortly after the press conference where he mentioned the possibility of using USB for file storage and transfer, so take that for what its worth. I was given the impression it wouldn't be an issue but I wasn't aware such things were locked out on the 360 so I guess it wouldn't be surprising if they did the same with the PS3.Comment

I'm starting to think I'll rather keep that extra $100 and spend it on another game or 2. Not decided yet though.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

Re: PS3 Too Cheap -- Kutaragi
20 gigs is enough for me... i have my HD loaded with trailers and demo's.. and have about 9 gb's left... so 20 gb's isn't an issue (with 13 available to use)
my thing with the $500.00 version is... it still has a blu-ray player in it.. if ur gonna have blu ray, might as well spend the extra 100, get the premium PS3 and be future proofed to watch blu-ray movies if u decide to start a blu ray collection and have a nice HDTV... paying for a blu ray player that won't play blu rays in HD the way it should is like buying a DVD player to only watch mpeg movies on CD-R's... just my opinion though.http://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis

If you go with the 20 gb you should be fine. The 20 gb has been fine with the 360 for me so far. I delete some demos I download after I have played them extensively.
Remember that the $500 PS3 doesn't have the HDMI, WiFi, and Memory Card reader. If you don't care for that stuff than you should be fine.
I'm in the same boat about getting the $500 version. I really don't care for BR movies since I know I won't watch those movies since I have a vast collection of DVD's that I'm not looking to replace anytime soon. I worry though that I might lose some quality without having an HDMI on the PS3, I want the wireless contoller, bigger HDD, + the memory card reader. I need to figure out which one I want myself.
I guess it all depends what you want.
For those that continue to say that they will wait for a price drop, I doubt it will come as soon as many think. But, I bet that Sony releases a $400 model in 2007 that will be even more stripped down since I think that they are going down the PC route of offering multiple versions.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 05-13-2006, 09:19 AM.Comment

Re: PS3 Too Cheap -- Kutaragi
Originally posted by ExtremeGamerFor $100, I would get the 60 gig. 20 gigs is enough in reality, but for the 360, you do have to delete demos and what not (not like you would keep them anyway) but if MS released a 60 gig HDD, I would have went that route even before knowing anything. Bigger is always better IMO.Comment

Re: PS3 Too Cheap -- Kutaragi
Originally posted by FootballForeverLOL...I haven't done anything in a while now, I have no intrest in the PS3, I'm staying far clear away from the PS3, I've done my share of flip flopping over the years, but Next-Gen is too pricey and I will not get rid of my 360, the only reason why I would ever want a PS3, is for MLB the SHow, but one game will not sell the PS3 to me. By next year I'm sure MLB2k will be better. No more flip flopping for me, and you can hold me to this.
I'm not really flip flopping, I'm trying to justify buying a PS3 the $500 or $600 version even though it will have the same games as the 360 except for exclusives or do I want to get a Wii. I'm more impressed by what the Wii has to offer than the PS3. It's that $500-$600 price tag that is really killing it for me and making it difficult to want to spend that kind of money.
I've purchased every Sony and Nintendo console released here in the US, and I almost feel like I will not be getting a PS3 at launch do to this price crap which is a shame. Flip flopping is saying that I love the console and I'm going to buy it, but next week I don't want this thing anymore the games suck, but the following week I see this game so now I want it again. I'm stuck on the damn price tag. When you have a wife and 3 kids, buying expensive toys isn't that easy anymore and that's one reason why I'm unsure on some of these systems sometimes.
With the 360 I didn't even give it a second thought because the price warranted what we were getting.Comment
