the first time you go thru Mario Bros, you can only save at the end of some stages and when you open a path to one of the mushroom houses. After you've beaten it completely if I'm not mistaken you are given the ability to save anywhere.

          Re: Nintendo DS Lite

Well I finally dropped the green on the DS Lite and am having a blast. I picked up 'Advance Wars', 'New Super Mario Bros', 'Super Princess Peach', and the two brain games. I haven't touched the first two since I'm hooked on the brain games and want to go through one game at a time (and Peach was first). I'll likely pick up 'Trauma Center' when the copies are available in-store again (IGN mentioned the publisher is going to print more).

Any other games worth picking up blind? How's 'Mario and Luigi - Partners in Time'? Also, do any of you have suggestions for a good, cheap case for the DS Lite? What about screen protectors...is anybody using these?

          Thanks!

*EDIT: Any news on a release date for 'Children of Mana'? I loved the one on SNES as well as the GBA game, so this will be a must buy.*

I need to pick up Advance Wars, I've heard that's a good game.

yeah, i'm really enjoying it, it's a fun turn based war strategy game

Lately I've been playing Sudoku on the Brain Age game though. I've known about sudoku, but never got into it, but now it's just sucked me in

I picked up a package that includes a nice, fake leather(lol)case/car adapter/screen proptector/key chain light/extra pen and screen protector from Fry's for 9.99. I believe it's made by Pelican. They also have a similar package with a usb adpter to charge the DS Lite.

I got a different (but similar) set with a car charger, 2 extra styli, nice padded case with some room to hold things inside, screen wipe cloth, and a separate holder for 6 game cartridges....really good deal for the 10-15 bucks they cost IMO

How careful do I need to be with the touch screen? I keep all my stuff immaculate (and get comments from the clerks when I trade my games in about how good of shape they are in) but I've never used a PDA or touch screen before. How much pressure can I apply? What about scratches? What CAUSES the scratches?

How many of you guys use screen protectors? Are they worth it? I'm just looking out for my new baby...epecially since my wife is really showing interest in it and we are having a great time one-upping each other on 'Big Brain Academy'.

                    Thanks!

I'm always very careful with the touch screen and don't press too hard on it just incase nothing happens to it.

Also I recommend getting screen protectors.

I have gone screen-protectorless for a month with my DS Lite and don't have any problems.

Also, Advance Wars keeps track of how much time you have spent playing it. I have approx. 40 hours, lol. I love it!

anyone else play Sudoku on Brain Age? I'd never gotten into that before, but on the DS, with the stylus, it's addictive

All the time. I'm addicted to the basic math, lol. I am really bad at fast reading outloud. I tend to read as though I am telling a story pauses and such at commas and periods.

Well I picked up Advance Wars and Phoenix Wright a couple days ago. I've only played the 1st case in PW so far and I haven't been able to put Advance Wars down.

I know what you mean...instead of trying to read really fast I end up trying to tell the story, like I was reading it to a group of kids or something, with all the inflection, pauses, etc
