The DC's graphics had a great what I call 'SEGA Pop!' to them. Really ultra punchy and colorful.

I remember they day I brought Soul Calibur home from Circuit City and hooked it up through VGA.

I think Soul Calibur is still the most graphically impressive game on the system. Shenmue 2 is probably the second prettiest.

Ah... Shenmue... What I wouldn't give to have a Shenmue 3. There are very few games that truly just completely suck me in and become all I can even think about until I beat them; both Shenmue games are two on that list.

I loved the Dreamcast and still own mine to this day. I'll never forget my jaw dropping to the floor when the trailer for Sonic Adventure came out. The scene with Sonic running across the bridge with the whale jumping behind him was a thing of beauty back then.

I spent many hours playing the living hell out of Shenmue and Crazy Taxi.

It was a shame the dreamcast came out when it did and didn't have the support it needed... it was ahead of its time. I remember playing nba and nfl 2k and just oogling at the graphics. they were so far ahead of everyone else at the time and honestly the 2k sports games of 2000 were better than the ea football and basketball versions of today.

Man, Virtua Tennis and Virtua Striker were my two favourite Dreamcast/Arcade games, those were the only games I played everytime I went to the arcades. I remember using Kafelnikov as my go to player and feeling amazing when I defeated the final boss to win the arcade mode, great memories.

Re: Dreamcast would have turned seven this year

If the Dreamcast comes out 18 months earlier, the entire history of videogame consoles (and sports games?) changes. Too many people waiting for the PS2 to blow it out of the water, and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. But the console game is just not a profit-maker, in general. I understand Sega leaving the biz, but man it left a big hole. Playing all the Sega sports games w/ my bro that XMas was one of the best memories ever.

Dreamcast remains one of my favorite consoles to this day, and I didn't even own it during the time of its release.

It was way ahead of its time unfortunately, but so many great games for that system.

Funny to see how many of the DC's innovations have been implemented since in consoles throughout the years.
