At this point, I think the games look like a blast with the new controller. I like what the controller mechanics are with the Wii Sports game, the Tony Hawk game, the other racing games, etc. The controller animations look fun with the Zelda game too. I can't wait till they come out with an Animal Crossing game for the Wii. Catching bugs and fishing with that controller will be a pretty unique gaming experience. So I'll go ahead and get her to preorder the system.

Yup I think Ninty said 1 million units for the US at launch and if true there should be no trouble walking into a store and buying one off the shelf.

LOL i was calling around all the gamestops... every single store answered with "hello this is gamestop, we're not taking any ps3 preorders how can i help you?"

sorry but there are no guarantees that anyone will get one. As a matter of fact, GS/EBs are saying that Sony has told them that they might not have the systems until the 18th, 19th or 20th depending on the region.

I remember last year for the 360 launch that there were 20 "guaranteed" systems and guess what happened? GS only received 5 systems at launch. Luckily I was #1 on the list. MAJOR bummer for the folks # 6-20.

Your store may only get 3. Some EB/GS are only getting 3-4 anyways so you never know.

Although more than likely you'll be fine. Hell, i'm #11 out of 11 at my GS

DOH!!

I'm hoping a buddy of mine who works there can take me up a few spaces just in case

Dont know how true it is, but one of my friends just told me that you cant sell ps3's on ebay. I didnt think he knew what he was talking about, but was wondering if anybody else has heard this. I think he's saltly cause he didnt get to preorder one and is just trying to scare me out of getting another to sell. If anybody can confirm that he's an idiot please do so!!! Thanks

i am with you marquiece, i may just camp out myself even though i am number one on the list at my ebgames. i was thinking that it would be stupid to wait out in the cold to try and get a system, but if i can sell it on ebay and give my kids an infinite better christmas than they'd have had otherwise, i am there. hell, even if i don't camp out i think i'll ebay the one i get from eb since i don't see any must have games coming out until 2007. really any game i'd want is going to be out on my 360 so what the hell....

btw, a friend of mine last year when the 360 released got two and ebayed one, he got $2200 for a buy it now and if the ps3 is more expensive out of the box than the 360, and is more scarce, i think getting $1000 is on the low end of what to expect...

I saw that they were removing PS3 pre-order listings, basically people trying to sell their pre-order. When the PS3 actually comes out I'm sure they will allow sales.

Ebay would be stupid to not allow PS3 sales. Its completely legal and will make them a lot of money.
