Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
I never said I wasn't. I won't have it until Xmas though.
Yeah, she said she would since neither my wife or I could. My wife tried. We went out to dinner with her last night and bought her dinner, and then my Mom gave her $110 to put down for the system (100 for the Wii and 5 for both Trauma Center and ExciteTruck).Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
I pre-ordered at my local Gamestop and they had 36 available - all of which were claimed 30 minutes before the store opened. They couldn't open early, so the manager printed out a list of available games & accessories for us to select from so the entries into the computer could be as quick as possible. Pretty smart way to do it.
What surprised me the most was in talking to people in line, most either had a xBox360 or were planning to get a PS3. One person said, "Nintendo's already won the next gen - everyone here is getting it and only one of the other two. You only need one high-def system." I thought that was interesting.Comment

If you didn't prepay already, I would say you have no shot now. Every store in my area is long sold out.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
I called a few stores around me and their sold out already. I'll take a shot with Best Buy on 11/19 and if I don't get one, than I'll just wait till their readily available.Comment

I never expected this system to be his hot. My mall Gamestop said they had more people lined up for the Wii than the PS3.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
I would actually do Walmart if I was you. I can tell you from my experience (and your stores could vary) but for say the 360, PS2, etc...people lined up at Best Buy 18 hours early. It was nuts.

If I get one cool, if not than it's not the end of the world. The longer I wait I guess the more titles I'll see in action + more games will be released.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 10-13-2006, 11:27 AM.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
Dont' have the funds to get a Wii or PS3 but I'll check on pre-orders at my local eb games...there are only about 14k people in my town so maybe all the pre-oders aren't used up.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
With the Gamecube, I just walked right in on launch at Best Buy and bought one without a hassle. I'm wondering if I'll be able to do the same or not, granted that was so many years ago.

But on the other hand, now that I have one paid, I'll be tripping over Wii's walking in to Best Buy.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
My hunch is you are right, I think you will be able to. But knowing my luck, they would be gone everywhere. I mean, people were camped out to prepay for the Wii, that's HUGE IMO. That's a huge statement to this holiday gaming season. Neither the PS3 or Wii could be shevles anywhere.
But on the other hand, now that I have one paid, I'll be tripping over Wii's walking in to Best Buy.
With the Wii, we have Nintendo loyalists but also people that own a 360 or will own a PS3 that want one as the alternative console. It can and probably will get crazy for these consoles.
It's been confirmed that there will be 1 million Wii's at launch worldwide, but rumor is speculating that we might see a total of 2 million at launch with about 4 million by the end of 2006. If it holds true than finding one on launch won't be too hard, challenging, but not like trying to get a PS3 challenging.
Again, please take these opinions with a grain of salt since their mine. If Mario was also launching, tham I would be going nuts trying to reserve one for sure.Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
The Wii is a hardcore gamer system imo. Thats why preorder sell-outs at Ebgames isnt a good indicator of sales at Best Buy or Target."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii PREORDER discussion
The local Gamestop here (which I am a part time employee now. but that's another story) said they received twice the pre-orders for Wii than they did for PS3. Also they were told that Nintendo and Sony struck a deal with EBAY to not allow resales of either system. They don't know if it's true or not.
