At this pace it's going to do around the same business as the first xbox, HARDLY ideal for MS. Now I do expect the PS3 to fall off some, but I expect the Wii, NOT the 360, to take it's spot. Nintendo could drop the price to a mainstream level on a dime and they have better support than the gamecube.
I'm not so sure that is true. We haven't had a console since Sega and as a family man with an Accountant wife, the decision was fairly simple. 360 or forget it. Now, if the Wii was around in Feb last year, she might have directed us in that direction.

I think your right, families , will purchase the Wii if available over the 360 or PS3 this holiday season.

I highly doubt that PS3 will sell more then the 360. Considering that MS has better games coming out and no person in ther right mind is going to pay $600 for a system and thats not even including a game.. There will be many who will by it but trust me. U cant compare a ps2 which sold at $129-149 to a system selling at $600. U guys will see..
NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

um, your logic is so flawed, that there's probably no real reason to respond. However, the ps3 will sell on ebay like the 360 did, and the japanese will be grabbing it by the millions, which is a market the 360 lacks. They bought more than 900,000 ps2 consoles in the first two days. It took MS until the end of 2005 to get to that number...in the US. After almost a year, they still don't have 1 million consoles sold in Japan yet. Even if Sony experiences the same exact manufacturing problems that MS had, Japan will always be there for the PS3. So sure, the PS3 won't sell more than the 360.

also, the price of the ps2 now has zero bearing on any ps3 discussion. That's like comparing the 360 to the xbox price, except it's different, since you can't even find the xbox in stores anymore...MS killed it.

I believe that MS has positioned themselves better right now, however the sheer power of the ps3 brand and presence in japan will help it sell. I still believe that MS will win this generation, since the ps3 costs sony so much money, and by the time they get blu ray production costs down and all that, MS might be pushing out the next console.
