lol agreed, though the total came up to $15.77 (including insurance) so I guess not bad, but offering some like Gears of War for the stress involved would be fair.

Atleast you will be able to trade in both games for GoW and not have to pay. (That is if GS is still doing that deal)

Damn MS. How do you release a update that kills systems? Geez...

Both games? It was a choice between Kameo and PGR3, you don't get both.

I guess they were taking a page out of Sony's book "bricking" PSP's with their updates.

Oh c'mon... the majority of people who "bricked" their PSP are either A) trying to do things to get homebrew or B) turned off the system mid-update. You have to be pretty dumb to brick a PSP.

The 360, however, is caused by the firmware not agreeing with the hardware. Two very different things. Just because people on forums use the same terminology does NOT make it the same thing.

MS' update is just as easy... unfortunately, it seems like people have to just "select update and pray" they do not have one of those errors...

I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with newly released hardware and the new update not recognizing each other. Obviously, not something MS planned for...

If you have not had any problems with your system I wouldn't be too worried about updating.

It is actually random though seems to mostly be new or "just-gotten" systems where they don't have the spring update and getting the mandatory fall update messes it up.

But it seems it is fixed.

lol then they wouldn't of given me anything.

Not many are even being offered games and only those two are offered, they must have a lot of extra ones or something.

After downloading the fall update, my console started to freeze with every game I played. Needless to say, I am now sending my 360 back tomorrow. I was pissed about having to pay for shipping though. Hopefully it decreases the time to get my console back. I wasn't offered PGR3 or Kameo either.

Yeah you have to get mad and lucky to get a nicer person. I sent mine back today so they should get it monday/tuesday, a few days in repair so I'll get it early to mid the following week. :-/

Anyone notice that the battery remaining power bar on the xbox guide panel is now working after the update? It is larger and brighter with a picture of a wireless controller next to it. It seems to actually reflect the battery life left now. Anyone else?
