      LMAO, so true.

Last night was very frustrating. We'd almost make it, and then death would hit us all.

Just a heads up that at 5 AM friday, check out Amazon.com They will have "Left 4 Dead" for only 40.00 on 360 and only 20.00 for PC. But I expect them to run out of stock very quickly!

Awesome comic Mgo...as funny as you said in the game.

I'm very happy people are hopping on the L4D bandwagon, the game deserves the praise and the sales.

I'm nowhere near bored with this game....you, me, Chase, and Z had a great run going tonight...

This game is seemingly simple yet so deep and addicting.

                    Ehh..

I'm already getting tired of the game.
The "rush" is still there, but it seems to be a bit repetitive.
                    Run a little bit...ready....here they come....kill a few stragglers.......get ready....here they come again...***n a little bit...
I have more fun watching and listening to the reactions of the guys I'm playing with.

                    -When getting attacked by a horde, you can't see anything. It's a bit ridiculous....push back...shoot...spin around....shoot...push back.
Helping someone else who is getting attacked by the horde or grabbed by a smoker is more fun
-Only having one pipe bomb or moli is annoying. It's the ANTI RPG stance(where you are allowed to carry anything and everything it seems)....I'm pretty sure if I had to I might be able to carry quite a few pipe bombs
-If you play with only two guys(you and another)...the AI teammates are hogs. They always grab a medkit and pills(because I'M CLOSING THE DOOR TO THE SAFE ROOM THAT THEY SEEM TO REFUSE TO DO....then when the load screen is over....they are right there hogging.
-and finally, while I at first liked the AI director...I now realize for what it is....it's a friggin' COMEBACK CODE for a shooter. Nothing but a chance for the AI to "cheat". No different than the "keep things close" option in some racing games where the CPU will change how the CPU racers will mirror how well you are doing.

                    Okay....now I know it sounds like I don't like the game...and that's not true.
I do enjoy playing it.....because it's a good co-op game(a good group of guys makes all the difference )
....but I just don't see this as a truly revolutionary game.
Good...maybe very good(but the fact that it's pretty much no fun as a single player game take some points away in my book)...but that's it IMO
I'll play this as long as other people still want to play.
After about 1 1/2 hours the other night......we moved on to COD5 coop.
There I said it.....I'm a very bad man...

Ctrl+Alt+Del is a great online comic. The creator has done quite a few of these things for big games and they always seem to speak the minds of the gamers.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I understand what you mean about the AI director, and it can feel cheap at times, but it is like a movie. They have the climatic final scene, so you know you'll get hit hard. Otherwise it's just random, which is what I really like. The same zombies don't burst from the same wall every time. You don't know what to expect.

I don't have COD5, but in COD4 you knew EXACTLY what was coming, where it was coming from, how many guys, what guns they have, which guy is fighting with his wife about what movie to see after the war, etc. That scripted nature, while fun for a playthrough, gets old to me.

I don't know if Left4Dead is revolutionary either, but it just has that randomness that most games don't. I honestly don't know what is around the next corner, and that's refreshing to me.

I definitely agree with you on that point.
The randomness of the encounters does ensure that you'll at least have fun when playing the scenes....
..and if you get 4 guys on survivor and 4 guys as the bosses....playing against each other, it must be a blast.
Like I said....I still have fun, so I guess that's all that matters, but those are just some things I'm not too happy about with the game.
I also wish the maps were "bigger" and would allow you multiple paths(in the campaign).....just a little less linear..
All in all I would still give the game an A.

Its not a game for everybody. But its the closest thing to a really really good Zombie flick. The pacing the tension, the comraderie. The gameplay, its ridiculously tight. the guns incredibly balanced. Co-op heaven. 4 people 1 goal. To me its just a perfect concept. And the versus mode is another story entirely, awesome unique goodness.

I love co-op and this the best co-op game ever, hands down.

I would love for more movies though. but even without it the game still rocks.

I'm hoping they release a DLC episode or two, I could see them doing quite a bit IF they release DLC on 360

I'm hoping they release a DLC episode or two, I could see them doing quite a bit IF they release DLC on 360
the problem is valve wants to release DLC for free while MS wants to charge for it so they can make some profit. Knowing that was the case, I wish Valve would've included a map-maker and something like the 2k file share or EA locker system where gamers could easily swap user-created movies. That would add so much replay value to the game. Alas, I'm hoping just for something but knowing the track record with TF2, I'm not optimistic.
