To be perfectly honest... if the XBox came out before PS2, i would've bought the xbox.... but since all those cool looking games and the first nex-gen system was for the PS2, well... i got the PS2.
MS is taking a loss to build a solid user base.... That's the most important thing for them... they realize that most games will be released on every platform... so it all comes down to user base.... Sure there's the Metroid's, Halo's and the Gran Tursimo's... but titles like those are few and far between...
Look at EA Sports.... they sell some inferior products, but they have an established userbase.... which in turn means they outsell the competition (in some instances).... ( EDIT: not saying the xbox is inferior, just an example
)
I can't justify spending an extra $300 CDN on another system to play the same games that i can play on my PS2. Aside from sports games, all the games i play are exclusively released on the PS2 up untill now and possibly in the future... Now if that weren't the case, and i had the cash...
In any rate, i hope the xbox is successful... i hope there's competition for Sony... that way we all benefit...Comment
