Part of me is losing excitement over Rock Band. I don't know what it is, I think it's the whole 4 instrument thing. I suck at singing, so don't see myself singing that often, and I have the GH's. So the drumming is the thing that really pulls me in. Then I look at a $200 (at least) price tag for this game, and wonder if it's going to be worth it. Adding in that they've already announced 3 major downloadable items (Metallica album, Who album, and now Nirvana's Nevermind), so I'm guessing each album will be $25-30. Adding to songs every week, and Rock Band may be the most expensive game of all time.

I'll get it, and still want it for the drumming alone. But the price factor is really starting to worry me.

Yeah, you can, but that's $140, so might as well, spend the other 60 for the mic and guitar.

If thats the case I see your point. Like you though, I will still pick it up...

Even though it is more money then I would normally spend on a game I am still pretty pumped for it. I am still playing GHII almost on a daily basis(just beat it on expert the other day). So in the grand scheme of things I will still prob get my money's worth.

Between 'Rock Band' and 'Guitar Hero III' (especially if Activision cranks out the DLC as well) it's going to be an expensive, yet musically AWESOME, winter!

I think my biggest issue right now is I look at Guitar Hero announcing songs that are on the disc, like Metallica's One. And I see Rock Band announcing songs that we'll get to download like Nirvana's Nevermind album. Kind of upsetting to me, that they are already thinking of ways to get more money after the release, instead of loading the disc with the content they already have.

The sad part: I am already becoming desensitized to the "extra" costs of gaming. All the extra crap to download.... I know means more money. But if we want to enjoy what they offer we will pay for it.

And I completely agree with you. It sucks. We see "downloadable content after release" and get excited, even though it means that $60 price tag for the game goes up 10-20 bucks every time. Depressing.

I was worried about the price also and really only using it for the drums or guitar, but I have talked my wife into signing so we should have a fun time since I can't sing for worth of ****.

EA shot down the $200 bundles. That doesn't mean it won't be. It could be less; or more. Also, Harmonix hasn't announced anything since e3. People have been running with the Nevermind news, but Harmonix has never confirmed it.

Well, EB/GS and Amazon both have now listed $200 bundles yesterday. I just bought one off of Amazon to use my Amazon Prime free shipping and no tax. So it's $200. I knew I would buckle...LOL
