I decided to cave and picked this up as a family Christmas gift. After hearing about all of the peripherial issues, i'm thinking about opening it up and playing it a bit to make sure it works. My son will be p!ssed if we open it up Christmas morning to find broken gear.

I got my Christmas bonus on Friday and was in EB buying some DS games for my son's gift, when I saw a whole pallet of Rock Band. I snatched it up and we have been enjoying the hell out of this thing. I can't stand the guitar though, it strums really hard; I was tired after playing it for 2 hours. My son likes it though, just means that I get to play with the Les Paul now.

The drums are a blast and the presentation is phenomenal. I loved it the first time I heard the crowd start to sing along. The band world tour is so well done, hopefully they implement that for the solo tour on the next one.

The only issue I have had with any equipment was that my powered hub does not work, but with the wireless guitar, it's not all that necessary.

Man I just heard the news that Harmonix gave a patch to Sony enabling the GH3 guitar to work with the ps3 and Activision blocked Sony from using it.

Activision is now trying to have MS release a patch to disable the GH 2 and 3 guitars with Rockband on the 360.

Activision is now trying to have MS release a patch to disable the GH 2 and 3 guitars with Rockband on the 360.

First part is sadly true, and all over the net by now - second part sounds like a made-up (or taken out of context) rumor.

I finally turned my nose up to DLC in Rock Band. I have bought everything but......Rockaway Beach. Youtube just could not justify it to me. I guess my appreciation for the Ramones is severely limited to their best hits.

Guys I'm sorry for the second part. I thought I read that as part of the post. It's a rumor going around and I absolutely apologize for that.

Although, if Activision did block the patch for the ps3, why would they be OK with 360 users have a compatible guitar?

That sucks. If I had this for the PS3, I'd have no way of playing guitar since I'm on my 3rd guitar already.

3rd guitar......................holy ****, maybe I should check mine out just incase. I only tested it the first day, since then its been the Les Paul and Xplorer for this game.

Flawless, and I am not even a big Sabbath guy. Probably the best pack so far.
