Yeah, I've got it as well. I got it from some terrible player when I didn't know it was viral, so I was wondering if a creator could possibly be that bad.

Wow..

Never played any guitar hero before. Decided to pick it up for the Wii since I got it for free basically. (Toys r us has a deal, buy 2 wii games get 1 free, buy 3 GH's, sell 2 on the bay!)

WTH have I been missing?! I was like a little kid @ christmas last night. I played from 11-3:30AM until I beat the game on easy..

I just had a revelation. The guitar is NOT at fault for my PS3 lag.

In preparation for a trip to meet the family for Thanksgiving, I decided to plug my PS3 into an SDTV (I'm not going to be taking my TV down there, after all) to see what games worked and what didn't - I haven't used an SDTV since I got the Hi def one a few months ago. So I ran a composite cable to that old SD piece of junk, and popped in GH3. Oh my God, I felt like I was playing GH2 again. No lag time whatsoever, audio or visual. I was hitting the notes and hearing them at the same time. I then turned on precision mode and went to Hard level Paranoid. Got through the song just as easily as I ever have on normal mode - and it just felt perfectly in sync. Actually kept a pretty good x4 going for awhile, which on precision mode is not easy to do.

Then I switch it directly over to my HDTV with the same cable (I have tried HDMI with the same results) and do the same thing:

First try: Failed on Intro. Haven't done that since, well......ever.

Second try: Failed just after solo (I wasn't saving myself with starpower - not the point)

Third Try: Failed in between, and gave up.

I was so worried that the guitar was the problem with all the Les Paul troubles people complain about, but this proves, in my case at least, that the TV is what's at fault. I still don't know if the lag calibration tool goes far enough to actually fix it, but it's a little peace of mind to know that the solution isn't something totally out of my control.
