Re: Guitar Hero 3
I agree with you Candy...er...Jigsaw on GH's career mode. We know they got the note thing down, they just need to completely overhaul the single player aspect of gameplay where it actually feels like a career and not a leg of a tour. I mean, the tier thing is a good start, but they need to start building on it with the next installment. Start with yourself and as you progress from backyards to bars you can form your own band, and as you get better, your band-mates get better too (whether from recruiting new members or practice). I enjoy the characters in GH, but it would be nice to completely customize your guitarists with a create-a-guitarist feature. I just think they need to make career mode more epic than the simple tier-level system.
I also agree with more guitarists on the next one too. More than 3 at least and have them all be real guitar players instead of 2 real and one fictional one. Eric Clapton would be cool. Buckethead would be awesome - he's definitely suited to appear in a videogame. Derek Trucks would be nice too.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
That is a nice idea Fresh, something like that would be cool + it allows us to get high replay value @ the level were accustomed to playing. Once your done playing say Medium which is the highest that I could get to, you only play the same songs over and over for so long, until more becomes DLC. Once you have unlocked all the songs, I would like to be able for us to create setlists and play the songs we want when on tour.
I think another nice idea for this game is to be able to create your own songs. Obviously they would just be long guitar solo's, but it would be cool to create songs and see if your friends could beat your score. You could also post them on Live somehow to see if others like them.
You could set the notes and whatever else. Not sure how this would work, or if its even possible, but it sounds fun, IMO.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Has anyone managed to win the final battle on hard yet? I've tried at least 10 times and it's damn near impossible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

I agree with the create a guitarist and setlist ideas.

They played it safe with GH3 and I'm ok with it, but they need to do something a bit more risky with GH4.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I don't even think adding a true career mode is risky at all. I mean, all they need to do is rename the current career mode to keep for the pick up and play fans, and then add in a world tour mode or something. It might be a bit overboard, but I think GH4 needs GH1-3 songs plus 50 "new" ones. I mean, it would kick *** to play Iron Man, War Pigs, and Paranoid not only on one game, but on one setlist.

Even if they somewhat copied Rock Band to a degree that would be perfect to create the never ending career. World Tour Mode would be fun.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Beat it the first try. I can't really give any non-obvious tips. Just make sure you get the battle power when it comes up, and use it when a harder passage comes up for the CPU. That's what I always do. Don't waste it on an easier segment, watch the notes, and when you see something challenging coming up, use that power.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
There is a lot of luck involved, but playing through it a few times and learning the note chart is the most important thing. And don't try to beat Lou during his solo - wait for the break and Johnny's part before you start attacking in earnest (though you might throw in one or two attacks on Lou's solo to keep him from getting powerups)Last edited by bcruise; 11-05-2007, 11:09 PM.Comment
