Question on GH3...is the guitar any different than GH2? I've got a guitar and not sure I'd care enough to pay for a new one, can find the game cheaper alone I bet. I know with RB that it has the solo keys or something, so it's different, didn't know if Activision changed the GH guitars or not.

The Les Paul is a little different than the Xplorer, but if you have a guitar already, there's no reason to get another other than the fact that it's nice to have two for co-op/vs. mode. The solo buttons are only on the Rockband guitar, which isn't compatible with GH.

By the way, I shipped my wireless Les Paul to Red Octane today for replacement.

Cool...not sure I want GH3, but since I primarily play alone at home so not sure the wireless guitar is worth the 40 bucks or more either.

Down strum just quit working all of a sudden. The up strum still worked, and I haven't had any problem with fret buttons responding, so I was pretty bummed. I just hope they can take care of it quickly. I feel like an addict in withdrawal.

They were really quick to respond to my request though, it only took like a day.

It's nice to have wireless. Also, unless you are dying to play drums, GH is the better option. IMHO, it kills Rockband in the guitar aspect of the game.

I cannot beat Lou on Hard... I can't seem to recover once he gets his 2nd battle power

Exactly where I left off. Seriously, I just quit and moved on to Expert...They should feel shame for even having duels like this.

I've been trying to master TTFAF on Hard for the last 3 days and I can't do it . I'm getting upset. I'm getting through Expert fairly easily but I still can't do it.

you will get it done. it took me about 3 weeks of frustration before i beat it. i dont think i will ever play it again. the key is to get to the part where power ups start coming like crazy and just use them as soon as they come. always concentrate on getting the power ups

Wow... so I went to a Superbowl party at my friend's yesterday, and one of his friends can beat TTFAF on expert. So I ask him if he can beat Lou on Hard for me and tries it out. He tries twice and can't beat it. He got farther than I could, but he still couldn't win. What hope do I have?

I don't think skill on one song necessarily translates to another song. Each song is different. That's nuts though. You'd think that anybody who has put in enough time to beat TTFAF on Expert could breeze through most anything else.

Man...that makes me feel a little better about only having been able to beat him twice on hard. Both times were just luck where he bailed out seconds before I would have.

I still can't beat Raining Blood on Expert.

What's your actual problem with the song? Can you just plain not pass the song, or is it only tough when you get to the battle notes?

Here's the tip: Get a "whammy" power-up, and wait for the part where he has to strum like 1000 green notes in a second. I don't know if this happens on Hard or not, but it does on Expert. For me, the biggest problem is that he gets a power-up first, thus potentially screwing you over on your first power-up. Takes a while, but if you get your power-ups, there are many different ways you can beat him.
