That's the quote I was referring to. Plus the fact that you were talking about nailing the song, but not having the game "give" it to you. If you use proper technique, the game (GHII) scored it correctly. If you played it perfectly. There is not a single time that I played it perfectly and didn't get credit for it. The songs that I play well, I can repeat every single go around, and I don't even play this game that much. The same goes for any high level player in this game. They'll score in the high 90s on a song every time, without talking about the game not "giving" it to them.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Is there anyway to see which version somebody is playing by looking at their user page on the GH community site?

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Only if he gets Rock Band. I'm not picking up GHIII until January or maybe later. With GHII and Rock Band, I don't need a third music game. As it is, the guitar in Rock Band is a bonus. I'm really getting it for the drums. Good thing, too, because if it was all about the guitar, their set list would have me leaving Rock Band on the shelf either. There is no novelty in playing the songs on the guitar instrument. The drum instrument is a totally new experience though.
I never played GHI, but GHII served its purpose, which was to get me back into practicing the guitar in a more regimented fashion. As a guitar player, you have to ask yourself while you're playing the game "should I be playing guitar right now?". I made the promise to myself when I bought the game that I wouldn't play it more than I played real guitar, lol. That was a great way to get my act together.
Rock Band
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
College Hoops 2k8
Kane and Lynch
Ace Combat
Army of Two(if it's good)
Find a used Bioshock(it's too short for $60!)
THEN I'll buy a third music game in GHIIIComment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Just played the demo. Pretty cool, but it seems there are some parts when the audio is just too late for the notes that are coming down. Also, I knew these three-note chords were going to be too much at times. I'm sorry, but it's just craptacular the way they charted some of these.
It's fun, though. Will be a nice Christmas present. I just hope the framerate holds up on the PS2 version.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
A friend and I just plowed through co-op to unlock the co-op songs, all of which are fun (though Sabotage is pretty repetitive). I'm halfway through the solo campaign on expert and nothing's really given me any trouble so far, though in co-op play I had to star-power-bail-out myself from that one part of the solo of One.
All in all fun times.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
It's the only song I can't beat. I just can't get through it yet. I probably won't bother for a while again either, since the song also drives me nuts. it's just terrible.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Raining Blood is owning me on Hard for the same reasons as you guys who are on Expert. If I could just get some SP going into Mosh 1...
Also, I had to laugh at myself after flubbing 3's and 7's on my first playthrough since it was Queens of the Stone Age giving me GH hell again (No One Knows was the bane of my GH1 existence)Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
As an aside, I'm really curious to take a crack at this song, because Raining Blood isn't really that hard of a song on real guitar. They'll do that sometimes, where they take something simple and translate it into a harder technique. A lot of the "Drop D" songs were like that in GHII. Most notably, "Six". The entire song is a lot easier on guitar, lol.
EDIT: Just looked at it on Youtube. It looks challenging, but not overly so. How are you guys doing on "Through the Fire through the Flames"? Out of all the songs I've seen, that one worried me the most so far. Is it easier than it looks?Last edited by Bornindamecca; 10-29-2007, 11:58 PM.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
Anyone on OS can beat Through the Fire and Flames on expert, please make a video. I've seen a dual go at it and I can't beleive my eyes how crazy that is.
This guy did 86% which is unbelievable.

What's more amazing is the actual band. I've never heard of Dragon Force until playing this game, so I looked up Through the Fire and Flames video and these guys are not human!
