    Re: Guitar Hero 3

Been playing this more, and I think I'll be determined enough to get this as a Christmas present. I wasn't at first, but some songs really sold me (some songs still piss me off to hell, though).

Does anyone know how you're supposed to play the opening riff to TF&F on Expert? Like, I heard multiple people say that you're really supposed to use both hands for the hammer-ons and pull-offs, and others just say strum regularly, etc. I just wanted to know if anyone knew the secret.

From what I've heard using both hands, like some people did on Jordan's solo, works better.

Per Scorehero, the three Boss songs in the game are going to be offered as downloadable content later in November. Dunno about you guys, but I really want to take a shot at Lou's part.

Oh yeah....and they're going to be free.

Guess they couldn't justify making us pay for songs that are already in the game.

As obvious as that should've been, i'm actually suprised they are giving them out for free. Good things though.

The DLC of Slither and She Builds Quick Machines were fun to play. The other VR song, The Message is a slow song, probably the slowest GH song ever, it's was pretty easy. It was weird that it didn't make Slash the guitarist for those songs though.

Yeah, I found that very strange too about Slash. I really like The Message a lot, but don't know where to find that song. I have both albums + my Libertad is the disc that came with the DVD.

It looks like its available on itunes.

What I'm trying to do is keep my index finger on green, then hammering on the rest of the notes. So far, I'm failing miserably (haven't gotten past 1% yet, lol).

Surprisingly, after having memorized the note sequence, I can get it on every speed but full.

The only other problem I would have (and it's not just this song) is that if I miss a note during a hammer-on sequence, it takes me forever to realize it and react for some reason, so I miss like a set of notes before strumming again. This is especially a big problem for TF&F, because if you miss once, you're done for.

So do you advise that I just strum anyway?

Slither on Expert is tough I failed 3 times and then went to hard and it was hard. I wish they had another level. I like expert because I like to play all the notes but don't like the crazy note charts.

This may be a stupid question, but are all the songs on GHIII playable once you pass a certain point? I just played through easy. Do I get "Devil Went Down to Georgia" (since it was a boss battle)? Do I get TTFAF? I got to play it during the credits, but there was no score or anything. Are there other songs once I play on medium? Sorry. I just don't get to play all that often, so I'm wondering what's ahead. I'd especially like to play "Devil Went Down to Georgia" in its entirety. Thanks for the info.

DWDTG is going to be released as free DLC. You can play TTFAF as a "bonus" song (basically go to the next tab over on the setlist page).

Just use the cheat code to get them. It's one annoyance I have with GH. They need to just let us play every song on the quickstart from the get go.

For anyone in the OS Rock Army, (really, anyone who has a linked account), the Guitar Hero website seems to be updating immediately after I play a song now. I finally got credit for beating Hard about a week ago, too.

Still having trouble getting in online games though - and I hear it's a problem across all the platforms.
