Lol i found that strange as well. If the nuclear war happened in 2077 wouldn't the cpu's etc left lying around be from that time not 100+ years in the past?

If you read the history of the Fallout games, it states that at some point history deviates from our world and what was considered "the future" back in the 50's actually comes to pass. So the stuff you're seeing in the game isn't old by Fallout world standards but is old by our (reality) standards.

Seems like every review I really read about it is saying that they pretty much took out the RPG aspect of Fallout in the DLC mission. They said most things are not lootable. Another quote was, "Everything that makes Fallout3 great is stripped and you are left with a Shooter with Vats" If that is the case then I think it is overpriced.

It's bad... It's not remotely up to Oblivion standards at all. It's a tad better after the patch. I still have it (Collectors ED) but probably only because the trade in is like 4 bux. I do like the magic system and I will play it from time to time.
If you hadn't bought it I would say not to, but since you already have it you might as well keep it unless you can get full value back from it.

Alright...as I'm near the end and just trying to max out my level, I have some questions:

                    Spoiler

Lastly, are there any good sidequests that I should check out? I've done quite a few but I know there are more due to the Achievement count.

I liked "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head." You can get a great power armor out of that one.

I think I found the dog at the scrapyard, but I don't know if that is random...

The dog is in the scrapyard, I never got him either though. As for the White House, it's hard to find because it's in a different location than real life, and that area is so trashed. You can only get to it through a sewer, but it's just a giant radioactive crater anyways. There's not much to see really.

Is there a specific location or sewer I need to enter? I don't want to start spelunking and waste hours.

Also, where's the scrapyard? I know it's supposed to be near Megaton but have never found it.

The scrapyard is a salvage yard in the Capital Wasteland in 2277. Aside from heaps of junk vehicles, it is the place where Dogmeat (a possible companion) will first be encountered, fighting a small band of raiders. It is located south of Minefield and northeast of Vault 101, past the Potomac River. Specifically, it is almost exactly four squares north and three east of Vault 101. With the Contract Killer perk, the Littlehorn & Associates office will also be found in a shack just inside the...

The White House was the pre-War residence of the president of the United States in Washington, D.C. in 2277. The White House pool underwent renovations in 2042. Several deck chairs were sold to the Whitespring Presidential Cottage and Museum as a result of the renovations.[1] In 2077, the president left the White House and secretly began living on Control Station ENCLAVE, a Poseidon Energy oil rig off the coast of San Francisco.[2] The White House Press Corps was unofficially disbanded...

I only used a walkthrough to point me in the locations of quests. The game is pretty straight forward without a guide otherwise. Just go kill things, get stuff, etc.
