Re: Fallout 3
Basically stay away from looking for your father and you should be fine. I went 40 hours before I stumbled upon a Vault that was related to the main quest.
The first mission is to talk to people in Megaton for info on your dad. So if you dont talk to anyone about your father you should stay away from the mq.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
I've put in about 20 hours, and I'm barely through the main quest at all. If you wanted to, you could go through it again with a different character and make different decisions which would still be fun.
Just curious, what level were you when you finished? There's no way you were in the high teens only playing 10 hours.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NBA: New York Knicks
NFL: Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams
NCAA: Georgia Tech Yellow JacketsComment

Re: Fallout 3
I screwed up big time with the bobble heads... I had all of them except one...
Spoilerthen I decided to finish up the game thinking I could go back but as we all know that is not possible so i screwed myself out of 30 gamer points. I am really disappointed that the games end with death, I really wish they would have waited until the Final DLC to kill of the main Character...With this ending, it kind of makes me wonder how they will work in the DLC thoughMy dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Fallout 3
^ You don't have a previous save to go back to? You'd have to have another save or two if you were trying to get the ______ Karma at Level 8/14/20 achievements, right? I personally have over 20 saves and i only have 1 character so i never have to worry about that...i think my last manual save was save #200And i always try to manually save in front of a significant landmark (such as the bomb in Megaton or a city sign like "Paradise Falls") as it gave me a better idea of what quest i was up to in that save.
Anyhoo, which date are we expecting the first DLC?Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Man this game is an absolute time eater! Yesterday i was going to play this for an hour or two in the morning then go mow the lawn, wash the car and do some shopping in the afternoon. Instead i just got engrossed in this game and played it for nearly 8 hours!! I haven't done that for at least 10 years in my younger days.
In regards to Mr Crowley
SpoilerI had one of the most awesome missions i have ever done in a game with this one. Mr Crowley (a Ghoul living in the underworld in the museum) gave me a quest to kill 3 different guys (including Tenpenny who owns the massive hotel) and bring him back a key from each of them. Because i'm playing as a good guy i got the 3 keys without killing them and then delivered them to Mr Crowley who immediatley started running out the front door.
I followed him for over an hour while he fought off various raiders, dogs, mutants and bears (and stopped for the occasional smoke as well) all the way to fort constantine then i killed him and took the keys and entered the bomb shelter. It was definetley worth the wait because I got:
* bunch of pre war money and caps
* fat man nuke launcher and minny nukes
* power armour worth 999 caps with 50 protection and much more, talk about a score!!.
Also does anyone know how i or where i have to go to get training to wear "power armour"?Comment

Re: Fallout 3
This is kind of my Fallout experience. I thought the Vault stuff was brilliant, graphics are beautiful, but starting up I'm just not into it. My friend warned me about this, and I know I'll get through it, but right now the whole find-my-father-in-the-nuclear-desert thing just doesn't grab me.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
That's not engaging to me. I'm sure I'll get past it, but right now I turn on Fallout and it makes me just want to play another game that actually needs me, lol.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
Lol i definetley see your point. I found doing missions for the women in the craterside supply in megaton (can't remember her name for life of me) and doing research for her book was a good way to get out and about and it kinda just flowed from there.
I really only have two minor gripes with the game:
1. How come if i'm some great explorer i can jump/climb over a 3 foot peice of steel?
2. I wish there were some vehicles in this game because i see motorbikes and trucks lying about the place and it sure would make it quicker to get where i want to go.Last edited by Jonesy; 01-05-2009, 07:43 PM.Comment
