That is pathetic and seems like it should be in more of an arcade shooter, unless that is what they are trying for with COD 4. I played the BETA a few times and didn't care for it too much. I guess I saved myself $60. I will probably rent it to check out the campaign mode though.

That's why it's a beta. It can easily be removed from the final version. Infinity Ward wants feedback. If enough people bitch about it, they'll do something.

Just pick it up and chuck it at the enemy if you are close. If you're far, just back away. I don't think it's a big deal personally. Plus with friendly fire on in the real game, that one will cause a lot heated comments when someone with the perk dies and takes teammates down with them.

What I can't stand is the grenade attachment on the assault rifle, specially when you play against a team where everyone has one.

There probably will be a lot of options in the MP lobby that will allow the host to turn on or off the perks. There will also be a hardcore (realism) mode, with no radar, more realistic damage, etc., which I expect would not have perks such as last stand and last grenade.

Played a "last hurrah" of COD4 multiplayer this afternoon and can't wait for the full release. I like 'Halo 4' but, IMO, COD4 blows it out of the water. The weapon variety, perks, non-BS, etc. just make it that much more fun to play.

Playing in OS/user rooms will just make the online game that much better having the ability to turn on/off certain things. I'm also eager to see the rest of the maps.

I'm with you Johnny!!!! I have enjoyed the COD4 beta more than Halo 3. I'm anxious for this game to drop.

Don't get me wrong, there are things about Halo 3 that I do like. I actually like it much better than I did during it's beta run.
I will definitely still play Halo 3 but COD4 will be getting some serious playing time.

I too got some last day COD4 playing in yesterday. In fact I was up until about 1:00 AM (Central) doing so LOL

This will be a slow 5 weeks waiting for release day !!!

Thanks again Johnny for hooking me up

Downloaded and played the pc single player demo. I was hyped after playing the 360 beta, not so much now. Way too hectic for me. Maybe that's just that level, but too much going on for me to have fun. Loved the multiplayer though.

Sorry if this has been addressed already but I know that you can target specific body parts, but does it have a realistic affect?
So if I shoot someone in the leg, will they be limping? If I shoot them in the arm will they be able to shoot their rifle still?

                    Thanks!

Are you talking about the single player? Because from the Beta, obviously that does not happen in MP.

It doesn't eh? Thanks for the response.

I'm still waiting for a game to do that. It would make the gameplay incredibly realistic.

If i remember from the demo, Stranglehold does that. You can shoot the guys hand and he wouldn't be able to shoot the gun. You can also shoot him in the nuts too or in the leg and he'll start limping. It's not a realistic shooter by any means but it does have that detail that you are talking about.

I can't wait for the game. I'm glad Halo is holding me down right now. But as soon as cod4 is out, Halo is going on the shelf.

Are there regenerating enemies? My biggest complaint of the COD series. In Halo you can kill everything in the area and then explore a little. In COD if you don't get past a certain point then the bad guys keep coming, and coming, and coming...drives me crazy sometimes.

Call of Duty 4’s Hank Keirsey Interview

You talked about what it’s like playing in this intensity, but what is your take on it when you sit down and look at the game?

Hank Keirsey: My first take is, I want to get better, because I don’t play [game consoles]…I wanted to kill people rapidly—and I couldn’t get on them with my M4 iron sights. I’m a pretty good marksman in real life, but I’m not good with my damned fingers, so I was very irritated. I wanted to leave the game, I wanted to throw the [controller] down and walk over and hit the guy. I tried to restrain that part of me—mature restraint. Be careful where you throw your schlong and don’t slam people that knock you out in video games that are the press, especially if you want to create good relationships.

The game actually gives me the willies, because it reminds me of a couple of Iraqi villages I’ve been in recently, it’s modeled so close. It’s got the feel. The next thing we’ve got to do is smell—dead meat, dead flesh has got to emit out of some olfactory device that spits that out. And what I mentioned to someone else is, you need some of the misery involved with waiting. When you have an intense moment like this, it’s usually because you waited for seven weeks, and sat in a shi…crappy little foxhole or a crappy little barracks with 120-degree heat where your air conditioner just went out. Or, in my case, we sat in trenches, during the Gulf War—literally like World War I dug-out foxholes—waiting to go across into Iraq for 37 days, eating up MRAs and freezing your butt off, believe it or not. You had sand get into every orifice to the point that it became…irritating.

So, that’s the next package we’re going to add on to this game. We’re going to have the realism package: sand stuffed in orifices—there’ll be a device that can do that—then we’ll have the shovel, the handy shovel, to go out in your backyard and dig a hole, pour water in it and lay in it for a couple of days. [smirks]

                                Very entertaining interview.
