What are you using to make it work? Everything I read said the compatibility was not 100% and the adaptors or whatever did not work.

Only the whammy bar doesn't work. Just a Radio Shack USB adapter.

I'd guess that with the sales of GH for the 360, we'll at the very least see this as downloadable content.

One great reason why I keep my ps2 in mint condition.

Poison, Police play 80s Guitar Hero Encore
"Synchronicity II" and "Nothing But a Good Time" to be feature on slightly retitled PS2 rhythm game; Billy Squier, Eddie Money, Faster *****cat, Skid Row, and Extreme also on board.

Just under two weeks ago, Activision officially confirmed that it was prepping a special 1980s-themed Guitar Hero title. Titled Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s, the game is the last in the series to be developed by now-MTV-owned Harmonix, and will ship for the PlayStation 2 this summer. The publisher also announced four songs that would be covered in the game: "Round and Round" by Ratt, "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow, "Metal Health" by Quiet Riot, "Holy Diver" by Ronnie James Dio, and "Heat of the Moment" by Asia. In addition, Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s will feature two original tracks: Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran" and "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister.

Today, Activision revealed seven more covers that would be featured in the game: Skid Row's "18 and Life," Faster *****cat's "Bathroom Wall," Billy Squier's "Lonely is the Night," Poison's "Nothing But a Good Time," Extreme's "Play With Me" Eddie Money's "Shaken," and "Synchronicity II" by the recently reformed Police. As of now, 13 of the 30 songs that will be featured in the game are known, with others to be undoubtedly revealed bit by bit over the coming weeks.

Besides unveiling the expanded song list, Activision also tweaked the title of the game formerly known as Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s. Henceforth, it will be known as Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s--perhaps presaging a whole retro "Encore" subfranchise to the Guitar Hero series. However, no such spin-off had been officially confirmed as of press time.

I have 18 and Life right now on my MP3 player, amazing riff. I can't wait for this game. I moved my PS2 back to the family room just in case the whammy bar issues aren't fixed for the PS3.

I wish they would say if this is going to be downloadable on the 360, I'm doubting it though.

Agreed. Overall a pretty weak list so far, with so much potential.

In the next 17 songs, Some songs I'd love to see are...Cinderella (Gypsy Road), Def Leppard (Pour Some Sugar On Me or Bringing on a Heartbreak), Whitesnake (Still of the Night), Bon Jovi (You Give Love a Bad Name), Aerosmith (Rag Doll), Metallica (One), Winger (Seventeen), Great White (Once Bitten, Twice Shy), even use Skid Row again with Youth Gone Wild.

If they don't release this for 360, then I'll be buying a PS2 with GH1 and this edition. My wife and I are just too addicted right now

I may be in the minority but so far I like the songs that have been released. I guess it is a product of growing up in the era. Very happy to see some bands that were not "mega stars" for the era. Bathroom Wall is going to Rock
