You have to be a member for like 4 months before you can upgrade above 2 games (at least it used to be like that, I've been a member for almost 6 years), 2 games is fine, I just pay extra just in case there are times when more games come out than can fit under two game plan (example a game comes out and two come out the next week). I should probably move down to two on the off seasons, but I never think about it and it makes it a bit easier to make sure I have a game in hand if I am waiting for one to ship.

As for if it's worth it, I think so, I can get a game shipped and have it in hand the day after release date and it could cost me about $44 if I choose to keep it, and I also get $5 every three months. I still buy the games I definitely want, or that I definitely want to support, but otherwise I average about 5 games a month, and I averaged 4 when I was in the 2 game plan. I also use the service to keep games I want to keep as a collectible wrapped.

I think Gamefly is a great deal. Generally it takes me 2, maybe 3 weeks to beat a game, and many games I don't care to play again after beating them. So for $15 I can beat one or two games a month, saves me $100. I'm constantly starting and stopping my membership depending on how many games I have bought recently.

Honestly, games have gotten so cheap these days, I don't think Gamefly is a good deal anymore.

Most games are down to $40 - $30 within two weeks of coming out.

Its cheaper for me to buy games and sell them when I'm done. I often get most of the purchase price back. I even make a profit sometimes. LA Noire sold for $14 more than I paid for it.

Yup works real good when games have their first pricedrop to the $40 buck range. Hard to flip when you pay $60.

Here's my take on the rental thing. I have Blockbuster now only because it came with my Dish network package. Slooooooow. Been taking over a week to get a rental in the mail. Everyone knows you can't get brand new games but even the semi-new games usually have a "very long wait."

Humm thinking it over, i might just skip on this overall. I don't want to wait 2 months for a game i'm itching to play today. Many of my friends are into the games I like, we'll just borrow from each other lol

The longer I've had this service, the more and more dissatisfied I've become. After waiting 2 days for them to decide which of the ten games in my queue to send me, they then ship it on Thursday. Normally, it takes 2 days for it to get here, which would mean it gets here today. Nope, and tomorrow is Sunday, so no game until Monday.

I never had problems with the shipping. Plus i always got the game i want by just putting one game in my Q. Anyway i was bout to start it back is there a restart membership code or discount around i could use?

Everything I saw when looking the other week for Marshallfever they were all the same, you can get two weeks free trial or two months for one if you join straight up. That was with every code I found, referrals and just going straight to the website. Only difference is if someone refers you they get a free month.

Been reading the last several pages of the thread and Gamefly really seems to have that love/hate thing going. Sounds like if $15 isn't a big deal to you then just do it. If your looking for thebest deal for your gaming money you should take a pass. I don't do it much because I play mostly sports and when I play something else it takes me a longer than a week to burn through it. Just slow I guess.

i had gamefly for just over a year..

i shut it down last week. why? games would ship to me on release days (i would get the text message), i wouldn't receive them for almost 6 full days.

they said, well you need to keep more games in your que, so you get stuff etc. i said, the games i want are always in my que, and i dont get them in a timely manner. 2 or 3 days is cool, but not 6. so basically i would go almost 2 full weeks in waiting a month for games.. just wasnt worth it anymore.

i will miss it, bc im just a sports gamer, but like to try out stuff i would never buy.. oh well!!

ps.. shipping address was in Pittsburgh, i could drive there in 35 mins, drop off my games and pick new ones up. no way it should take 6 days to get me a game!! terrible..

How exactly do I go about this?

WWE 12 comes out on the 22nd which is tuesday of course so should I return the current game I would have at the time on Friday?

I have it #1 in my Q list btw.

I was reading on the website, the longer you have it #1 on your queue, the better chance you have of receiving it. If you only have the 1 game out plan, I would make sure they have it by the 22nd.

Ship what you have to them no later than the Thursday before the game comes out (I send em back on Wednesday). You need to have the open slot on Saturday and there can be nothing else in your queue but the game you want. They ship out new releases on Monday.

On this cycle with gamefly, I was able to get Gears 3, NBA 2k12, Ace Combat, Goldeneye, and most recently both MGS HD Collection and Modern Warfare 3 today. 100% success rate for me with new releases the past 2 months.
