Wish it were on the PC. There are very few games that I really want to play, but this is one.

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Actually, I just started replaying this game a few days ago. Ready to see the end again. Kinda got burned out getting that platinum trophy.
I got my origami to work out fine. I used a normal piece of paper instead of what came with the game. That is still as flat as the day I opened it up.Comment

Holy ****!
“Kara” is Not Quantic Dream’s Next Game (But You May Wish it Was)
Head-turning videogame tech demos are a dime a dozen at Game Developers’ Conference, but developer Quantic Dream might have this year’s crop beat. Watch the full tech demo video for “Kara” below to see how the creators of Heavy Rain are looking to expand virtual performances in video games.
And just to be extra clear: No, “Kara” is not Quantic Dream’s next game.

Director David Cage was on-hand at GDC to debut the new video to the press, and his presentation touched on the origins of “Kara” — we’ve selected a few choice quotes below. Check back tomorrow to hear our full interview with Cage on the Official PlayStation Blogcast. It’s one interview you won’t want to miss!
After Heavy Rain, we wanted to push the envelope in terms of quality, starting with the visuals. We wanted to improve many things — things that were not possible with the Heavy Rain engine. So we had to develop a new engine from scratch.
We also wanted to improve the quality of the acting. With Heavy Rain, we did what many games do — split performances, recording a voice on one side and a body animation on the other, putting everything together and crossing your fingers that you get a consistent performance. It worked okay for Heavy Rain, but you lose a lot of a performance by splitting into two and rebuilding it artificially.
We wanted to do what Avatar did by having one full performance where we capture everything at the same time. And we wanted to demonstrate these new performance capture techniques and the new engine before going into production, so we developed a short showcase that would allow us to test these ideas and technologies. This is how “Kara” was created.
“Kara” is not our next game. It’s not the character, it’s not the world, it’s not the story. …We do things in a very strange way here, things that have nothing to do with the games we make. But I think that’s a part of the DNA of the studio, and hopefully something that people like about us – they never know what they’re going to get!Comment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
For you Heavy Rain platinum holders, what strategy guide/site did you use to pull of the driving against traffic sequence? I've done it 7-8 times and still no trophy. Every site seems to have a different take on it.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
yeah that was hard. I just used the writeup in the Trophy Guide and Road Map at ps3trophies.org. It was a tough one, but doing like that write up says and pausing between sequences really helped me.

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
That looks amazing (in response to Kara).
As for Heavy Rain. I love it. I had never actually felt so emotionally invested in characters before that.
I haven't felt that way since.
Really a rare game that made me actually care about what happened.-the least famous person you've never heard of.Comment

Words of wisdom from DDW. You can easily find yourself playing through the entire game in one sitting. That's what happened to me. The game flows perfectly.Originally posted by J. This is the only game my wife would want to watch me play every time I turned it on...so if your wife/gf isn't really into gaming, try this one, she'll love the decision making/drama lolComment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Don't act like a hyperactive COD or Halo player when you first begin. It may feel like the game is taking forever to get started and incredibly boring because nothing is going on. I've tried to get 3 of my friends to play it before and only one of them finished. They all had 360s, but the guy who finished was the only one who really understood gaming outside of sports games. He heard about it beforehand. The other two had never heard of it and they didn't even get to the first Madison Page scenario where she is walking around half naked. They wrote it off as slow. DO NOT DO THAT! Give it a chance. Play it to the end.
Every scenario is important to the story, don't just blow it off and rush through it.Comment
