Heavy Rain DLC Confirmed And Detailed

After much speculation, Sony has confirmed and detailed Heavy Rain's DLC. Titled the Heavy Rain Chronicles, the first episode will be available free upon the game's release for anyone who puts in a pre-order.

Heavy Rain: Chronicle One - The Taxidermist will feature investigative journalist Madison Paige in her hunt for a serial killer. It will be an update to the original "Taxidermist" demo.

The rest of Heavy Rain's cast will be featured in later episodes, with each one taking place either before or after the original game. Each episode will be available for $4.99.

For those who opt not to pre-order the game, the first two episodes will be available through the PlayStation Store at a later date. The exact dates are still to be announced.

Heavy Rain will be out in February.

Europe LE box art. No confirmation if the US will be getting the LE too.

No, I'm 99% sure this is a retail game. I think the DLC is for future episodes.

Which is why the DLC doesn't make sense to me.

So they're giving us the first story for free... of a multi-sectioned branch off of the main story?

After ACII taking out levels just to sell them as DLC, just want to know what's going on here.

Not multi-sectioned. Each Chronicle is its' own story and isn't directly tied to the main game or any other Chronicle. From what info has been said, it'll feature the characters from the game, but these aren't continuations of anything on the disc and more to just fill out the characters and give us some side stories to experience.

I think I'm going to get this game. I bought Indigo Prophecy (never finished it). Pretty sweet.

I'm surprised a lot more PS3 owners aren't talking about this game recently. It seems like it is going to be a very unique (and fun) gaming experience. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time!

I think one of the things that is making people hesitate about this game are the controls. They are very unique so to speak.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I just saw that this thread was on the 3rd page and I thought maybe people had forgotten about it. I'm just really excited for this title for some reason.

As for the unique controls, they do make me a little nervous, but hopefully they aren't too complex.
