    Re: Mirror's Edge

My daughter and I got sick at our stomachs playing it. Very vertiginous.

      Re: Mirror's Edge

Isn't time trial already in the 360 version? I remember seeing it on the main menu and not sure why it would take up space on the menus if it's not in the game.... Seems like a way for PS3 to say "Hey, we get exclusive DLC too!" when the only reason it's exclusive DLC is because it's already in the 360 version and you don't have to download it...

Yup can turn that off though and just use the stick.

They both have time trial,I guess the PS3 will get extra courses. You don't need any code for that mode in the full game do you? Cause there's no Gamestop here.

I think it's additional levels or something...they wouldn't tout it as exclusive DLC if the 360 version all ready had it...It's something unique. Maybe mystical like the invisible GTA4 DLC. That was such a dumb exclusive, how many people still care about GTA4 DLC right now, I won't be buying it.

            Here's some comparison shots: http://www.eurogamer.pt/gallery.php?...=277762#anchor

Apprently the PS3 version is filled with jaggies (and I need my eyes checked because the only difference I see is the second screen in the last row where there's tearing in the 360 screen)

I like the demo. When this drops in price I'll pick it up. The story is old hat, but this isn't the Odyssey, lol. The control scheme works well and the action has a nice pace. LB on the 360 is no problem after just a few minutes of play.

Tried it on the 360, pretty fun and interesting game. It was kind of like playing Uncharted except in the city environment in the 1st person mode.

I'll be giving this a rent sometime later on.

Me too...too many games to play/buy this right now, but I'll definitely play it.

Just played on the 360 and it's tons of fun. Kinda takes me back in the day to when games were "die, retry until you get it right" with all the mistakes I was making. It'll take me a while to get the timing down, but it's fun.

well that can be fun at times, like in a simple level based game like Mega Man. However, it gets frustrating in less linear, but story driven objective games like Splinter Cell. They give you freedom to play how you wish, but you have more trial and error just to pass an objective or get to a checkpoint.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's bad...I just missed a jump like 20 times before finally hitting it right, so that's the thought that crossed my mind. I really like that there are a ton of ways to go in a direction....I can see how the time trial stuff would be fun to try and master.

20 times? Wich jump was it? Even at first when I couldn't see because of the camera it only took me 2 or 3 tries,I'm used to it now so it's not much of a problem anymore. I'd say to some extent there's flow and rhythm involved.

I'm going to try it without the runner vision or reticle on,hmm there's a difficultly option too. That went suprisingly well.

Not actually 20 times, but I missed one about 8, I forget the exact one but it was some sort of double jump where you had to hit it at the right time to get the most distance or else you wouldn't make it.

Also if you don't hit the timing right in the fights with the guys you can die, just saying that it may be a game where you end up dying and retrying more, at least compared to games nowadays.

As I got the hang of the controls I got a lot better, but I'd also hope that later levels are harder too...Really fun and different game, and thankfully it restarts you at a point near you, especially for the combos that require 3 or 4 button presses.
