There's no where you need to double jump. Think you might've did something wrong or missed something. Don't have to fight the guys either. Might want to punch the first out of the way but other than that there's no need for it but if you're going to fight them I guess you could turn it to easy,it's on normal by default.

Checking out that time trial vid and another vid I've seen of the demo run through there's certianly a lot of ways to do things.

there is a jump in the demo where you have to jump, then hit another button to coil up to get over the barbed wire. So I guess that could be seen as a double jumpish kind of thing.

Wherever it was there was a jump that was a distance I had to try a few times to get the distance and aiming right...

And with the 2 guys they were spotlighted as guys I had to go through, and then you have to time it when the weapon's red...

I'm not complaining about the difficulty, I'm just saying that in order to fail you have to die, and then you just restart at the last checkpoint. I had fun with the demo and will like the actual game, didn't mean to insult anyone by saying it'll be die and retry. Maybe I just didn't have the timing down perfectly, and you may just be a godlike gamer, I don't know.

It took me a few times (not dying, just missing the jump) to get the "wall run, turn, jump, grab" combo down, I'm just crappy at playing I guess.

no, it's just that we haven't seen many games try platforming in a first person view. I don't know how many times I died in Call of Juarez because of the view and game mechanics not working properly. It takes some getting used to at first.

            OR

You punch/jump kick the first dude (continue to run) and just run to the left of the other guy, jump on the vent thing,to the stairs then diagonally across to the next set of stairs wich entirely avoids the second guy all together getting you to the same spot with half the trouble.

The concept and graphics are awesome but the game controls just seem a little too complex for me. I'm sure I'll enjoy watching someone else play it though.

Wow, demo was very fun! Controls were awkward, but I feel if you play long enough and master them, you should be fine, as it seems improvisation is the only true way to beat some of these levels.

                        Interview here: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/featur...f_faith_a_.php

Haven't read it yet but looking at the response to the first question:

"we really wanted to create a connection with you and the character, and the fact that you're playing the game through the eyes of Faith; as soon as you get to third person, you would be watching Faith, whereas we want you to be connected to her."

For me I only get the connection in 3rd person. Hard to be connected to a character you normally don't see and only slightly see in this.

                              Eurogamer Review - 8

What both share, however, is that ability to polarise. It's irritating that a game gets so much right while getting so much wrong at the same time. Previews promised something you hadn't seen before, but on closer inspection DICE has brought huge chunks of the tired and familiar along too, in the game's constant restarts, its railroading, and its fondness for making you crawl through air vents; the result is a postcard from the future, rather than a one-way trip.

There's something broken thematically, deep within Mirror's Edge: it tells you a rambling story about freedom even as it confines you to the tight squares of its own personal hopscotch court, and for many that will be one wrong-footing too many. But for those who can shrug off the contradictions and the limitations, ignore the tearing cityscape and lingering qualms about value for money, this will shove you so deeply into the experience of being in someone else's body, and taking it on a terrifying, breakneck joyride, that nothing else will matter.

If you're still undecided, I suggest a leap of faith: after all, you may be one of us who end up loving it.

From the demo, you can tell this is going to be one of the most immersive gaming experiences ever.
