I really wish I could be sure about the PC version. I want to play it but not taking the chance until price drops a bit.

This how I feel. After the first hour I was extremely disappointed. It almost felt liking gaming when backwards. As the game developed and you begin constructing and using more weapons the game becomes a lot more fun. I don't find it nearly as shallow as others. Its just a bit redundant with the side missions using the same quest maps as the main story.

I'll grab it used if I get it at all for console. I believe my local gamestop has a used PS3 copy so may grab one sometime. Not going to pay full price and give id $ for screwing the community that made them who they are today.

For me- 60.00 = it needs to run correctly.
I'll do the tweaks when the price drops to 40 or below
Don't get me wrong. Being a past PC gamer I know all about doing tweaks etc.. but that's usually to make the game run better not to fix it to run decently out of the box.

Re: Rage (iD Software's new FPS using their Tech-5 Engine)

Quick opinion from my first two hours of the 360 version. Keep in mind that I love ID games from Wolfenstein to Doom 3.

                  Good-
                  -Grapics, Gunplay, ememies are amazing.

-Shooting an ememy feels better in this game that just about any game I can think of.

                  Bad-
-The world is stiff and just for show

-Most of the enviroment is fixed which kinda gives it a roller coaster feeling

-Enemies drop guns and you cant pick them up

-Two hours in and I feel unattached to the story

-Driving reminds me of the driving sequences in the first Mass Effect

                  Conclusion-

In my opinion I would wait to get this one until it's around $30.

I'm a big fan of their games and the gun play feels great. Just not a sixty dollar value with so many other options are available. Save this one for a rainy day or for when it hit $30 imo.

It's getting better so that's great. Just like others have said it picks up about 2 hours in. For a while it seemed like $30 was a bit much. For $30 you will consider this a treat because a few parts of this game are some of the best in FPS.

Run and fetch missions get old, the driving is just a distraction, and the there are lots of wasted spots where you want to explore but they won't let you. I cant count how many times Ive tried to jump over something a foot high to try and explore and I couldn't move futher.

P.S. It's a shame they didn't do more with multiplayer, co-op, and more exploring. This could have been a $60 Day one purchase with must have DLC. They dropped the ball.

I'm getting the feeling now that they had to start over somewhere in Development. I think the side missions where you basically go back to the area you already beat kind of gives that away.

Just beat the game i wont post any spoilers but i will say ending comes up very quickly. Story felt like it was finally going somewhere and then BAM its over...not to mention i wasnt a fan of how this ended. Still the gameplay overall very fun! Could have been a amazing game a few things held it back tho.

I just finished this the other day and went ahead and traded it in on Battlefield. I actually thought I was about half way through the game when the guy told me "okay one last mission". I was like what the h3ll. This is one of the oddest games I've purchased in the regard that it was great in so many ways but just never took it to the level it should have been.

Make sure to run all the side mission before advancing in the main story line because there's no going back to roam around and see what you missed.
