As I said before it's a definite rental for me. I can get a 1 week rental from Blockbuster for $6. But in defense to what CB said, Tomb Raider Legend was a short game as well like between 6-8 hours.

I must've played that game like 4 times so there went 24-28 hours of gameplay. I did rent it because I knew it was a short game but it was very fun and entertaining. So if HS is like this, those who decide to buy should get their moneys worth. At least they know it's going to be a short game.

Yes and no. The 360 juggernauts have not disappointed in the length factor whatsoever....as neither have the Wii's. Resistance was long, Motorstorm was incomplete, Heavenly Sword has been confirmed as a joke (length wise), etc....

And I am not being a PS3 *****....I really like the PS3, it is a cheap Blu-ray and Sudoku is a great game. Resistance was fun to go through and Motorstorm was tight briefly.

Agreed on your point. If you can see yourself going through multiple times, then it is well worth it. But being in grad school and with the ridiculous amounts of amazing games coming out, combined with the fact this is a glorified button masher, Heavenly Sword just can't compete (IMO) past the rental stage. Way too many great games coming out for the 3 systems...

the 360 has its fair share of rental only games, it's just that it has great must buy games as well. The only reason why this is getting attention is that it was hyped to be a big fall release, and now it looks like a rental. The 360 will own the ps3 in sales of everything this fall. They'll miss not having GTA 4 out more than the 360.

When you pay $600 for a game machine, and $60 for the games, they must be better than this.

Well said bk..........the PS3 has been promises upon promises and no real deliverance imo. The most fun that I have had with a game has to go to 2 titles.........Resistance and MLB:The Show.

If I was a PS3 only user, I would be a bit miffed by all this disappointment. Even the 360 in the Spring 2006 had a title or two that was good, Summer '06 brought a few titles that were worth playing, and Fall 2006 had some good stuff. I would have hoped the PS3 would have faired better than the 360 in its first year from all of the SONY hype.

Motorstorm = a mere tech demo that was an incomplete game which we were charged $60 for.

Heavenly Sword = a beautiful game that is over with in no time and even though the reviews say its repetitive, that doesn't bother me since I'm used to games like Dynasty Warriors. They were making this game be something epic for the fall and now it just seems like its not even worth the $60. This game reminds me kind of like Ninety Nine Nights, hyped to hell, and then it turned out to be a disappointment for many.

Warhawk = from a few reviews that I've read including PSM's review, this game isn't worth the the $60 BluRay its on or the $40 download from the PSN. Again, the complaints were on the SUXAXIS controls.

LAIR = another hyped up PS3 title that has been bashed by the reviews, especially due to the messed up SUXAXIS control scheme.

Sports Titles = PS3 gets 30fps sports titles from EA while 360 owners get 60fps, where is the love?

Please Ratchet and Clank, HAZE, and Unreal Tournament 3................don't disappoint.

I just bought a PS3 and I am a little dissapointed about what I am hearing about Heavenly sword. Reviews are important to me because I simply cannot buy everygame that comes out. I want to, but I wife may just kill me if I do. I love Sony and would buy a PS3 for MGS4 and FFXIII alone, but 2007 is looking pretty bad for them. Heavenly Sword was hyped all through E3 and I thought it would be a definate purchase. I thought it would be the next great game that everyone must play. I did not get the PS3 for that game, but thought it was a lock to buy and help justify the purchase. I just cannot drop $60 for a game that I will play for 3 days and never again. I would rent the game. The most anticipated PS3 games the rest of this year will come out on 360 as well (COD4, Assassins Creed, Spot Titles etc). Uncharted, Folklore, and Haze looks pretty good as far as 2007 exclusives go. For those games coming out for both systems, I may get them for PS3, since I have faith that my 360 will die sometime between now and xmas (Hopefully not until I can get through Bioshock and Mass Effect). PS3's relieability drew me to it, but they need to step their game up as far as software. Heavenly Sword and Lair getting mediocre reviews kills Sony with Halo 3 coming out the same monthe as those two games.

Sony will step it up it 2008 with Killzone 2, DMC4, MGS4, Silent Hill V, Resident Evil 5, and GTAIV. While most of those are not exclusives, it still gives more of a reason to purchase the system. I love my 360 (despite it giving me dirty disc errors on brand new games), like my Wii, and like my PS3 (Ninja Gaiden and MLB 2007: The Show) so far. I do not regret my purchase, but I am dissapointed that Sony is off to such a slow start.

On a side note, the Wii may have a library that is even worse than PS3. Somehow with controller innovation, the virtual console, and the Jedi mind trick, they have been able to get around the fact that they have very few interesting titles to speak of (Loz: TP and Metroid Prime 3).

                            good post!

the newer version 360's with 65nm processors an upgraded heatsink, HDMI and quieter disc drive are hitting stores soon.

do you have a warranty? if not MS will replace your system if it dies for 3 years from purchase with most likely a newer version by then.

yep, it's a timed exclusive, although I assume they did that to get attention and sales on the ps3, while not getting lost in the stacked 360 fall lineup.
