    360.
There's a video somewhere in the topic and an article about the PS3 not having grass or something like that.

I'd take the 25 mission DLC over those little things.

        Joystiq Review

Mafia 2 is, to put it mildly, a tightly controlled experience, to an extent that may be a little shocking to those of us who've become acclimated to the freedom of most open world games. Like it or not, you're going to complete a pre-determined series of missions with no dillydallying along the way. Sure, you can drive anywhere you like in the gorgeously rendered Empire Bay, but you always know exactly where you're supposed to go next. In a year when we've explored Red Dead Redemption's vast plains chock-full of adventure, Mafia 2's structure feels restrictive at best and dull at worst.

Rigid linearity in an open-world game isn't a great conceptual starting point, but 2K Czech might have pulled it off if it'd had a perfectly honed experience to offer. Unfortunately, that's just not the case.

No matter how long he's in the mafia's service, Vito never seems to stop doing chores for people, whether that means driving bosses to the train station or selling cigarettes out of the back of a truck. Sure, he gets into a handful of gunfights, which really are thrilling thanks to satisfyingly destructible cover and a cool blend of classic gangster firearms and WW2 weapons. But he'll also spend way too much time in shallow block-counter-repeat fistfights or behind the wheel of a clunky automobile.
It would be a far easier game to dismiss if the world Vito inhabited weren't such a constant joy to spend time in. The cheerful period advertising and music as well as the spotless architecture combine to form a sense of optimism that's simultaneously nostalgic and eerie when juxtaposed with the mafia violence. What's really heartbreaking is that you're never given any reason to explore this vibrant world that has all the interactivity of a Disneyland attraction's backdrop.

I loved the setting enough that I can't tell you to avoid Mafia 2 and feel good about it, and my score reflects that. While there's not much to crow about here in terms of story or action, there were moments when the city and the music all gelled together that were downright transportive, and it'd be a shame to miss out on them.

Yeah I am disappointed to see this game is shorter then what I expected and not open world. I was hoping this game would be better then Godfather 2. I will still get it though, eventually......won't be paying $60 for it thats for sure.

So as it stands.......Red Dead Redemption is still the game to beat for GOTY.

Based off the demo alone, this game is a hell of a lot better than the mess that was Godfather 2.

Disappointed that there isn't any side missions or anything to make the game longer though.

I think I am going to wait as well. $60 is too much for a 15 hour story. My first play through of GTA IV took over 50 hours and my second was over 30 and my third was 16 hours, but that was doing mission after mission and no side activities.

Unfortunately Mafia II doesn't have any side activities like GTA so I'll be doing mission after mission with some exploring and cruising in there too. Had this game just included a co-op mode like Saints Row 2, I might consider buying it. But as a single player game only with a 15 hour story, I'll wait for a price drop.

I have other games that I am heavily involved with and favor, so the 15hr story will do just fine for me. About to fire it up

You can't do that anymore... My Amazon order went through to processing and I can't cancel it. I have to wake up early enough to catch the UPS driver and deny the package.

Just downloaded the demo and this game catches my interest. Love the 40's Gangsta type genre. Never had this type of game before and with me home from work the next couple of days with a BAD CASE of Pink Eye I might sneak my INFECTED CUSSWORD down the street to Meijers at 12am and grab this game. Peace!!!!

I was lucky enough to cancel it on time and re-order the regular edition before mine went to processing. I got a confirmation e-mail that the LE was cancelled and the standard edition ordered. I used free shipping instead of release day shipping, so that might have something to do with it, IDK.
