Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Didn't have a whole lot of trouble for the better part of the game on hard. Now I'm on Chapter 14 and I'm stuck, can anyone give me any tips for when
Spoileryou find out your dad was killed by derek and you chase after him. I can get up to the part where I get back in the warehouse, but once i get in there im rained down with bullets and molotov's and last like 2 minutes.Go Yankees

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Behind Shenmue 2, Mafia on the PC is my favorite game. I played through that game more than a few times. Tommy Angelo, Pauli, Don Salieri were great characters. I really thought they should have continued that storyline with Mafia 2. I still will rent Mafia 2, but I doubt it will measure up to the first Mafia.Spoilereveryone in jail.

SpoilerI never really came up with the right strategy, I think I just got lucky. On normal mode, I would go to the left by the crates and take cover between the railing and those and wait for the 2 guys to fire at me from the right and take them out. Then I would wait for a molotov to be thrown and pop out and ignore anyone up top other than that guy. Not the smartest though so the staircase strategy is probably much smarter. :P
I think I played it like 8 times, the other ones, the next most I think was only like 3 - the last big firefight I believe actually.Comment

I tried taking cover several times, but would always die. I just ran straight to the back of the warehouse, popped the two guys back there. Then I would pop my head out from under the second level and get Derek to throw the molotovs at me. Eventually he sends down a couple guys and they're easy to kill. As for Derek, make sure the beams are in the center of you and Derek when he throws his molotovs because they block much better than taking cover behind the crates. There is a beam in the middle of the floor where he runs over to and depending on your location will toss a molotov and actually light himself on fire (you can hear him yelling); that's when I popped out and got him in the head.
90% driving? Really? Sure, that's a good portion of it, but that's going to be true in any sandbox based game as you always have to get to point A from point B in a chapter/mission. At least the driving is far more fun than GTAIV, which had the worst driving of any open world game this gen. Driving a car in GTAIV was like driving a boat.
Anyway, this game is what the first Godfather should have been. It would have been nice to have "jobs" or side missions (speaking of which, why is there a "Jobs" symbol in the legend for the map? I never saw that when I was playing) or having more/optional interactions with the other gangs in the city, but the storyline was awesome and I really liked the gameplay mechanics a lot more than GTA.

SpoilerRun to the very back of the warehouse to the left. Two guys will be to the right, so find cover as quickly as possible. You will be under the point where Derek is throwing cocktails so you don't have to worry about fire or machine guns from up top. Take out the two guys to the right, then stay in the middle. Two guys will come down the stairs that head up to the office. Take 'em out. Then, ever so slowly inch out and find the machine gunners (think there are two), and take them out. At that point, only Derek and maybe one other guy is left. I ran up the stairs then, and all the way to the back (uptop) and took out the last gunner, and then Derek. Done.Comment

SpoilerLike others have already mentioned, run directly to the first metal support beam on the left. I'd also recommend swinging by Harry's before you activate this mission and load up on some heavy ammo (you should have a decent amount of cash on you). I stocked up on EVERYTHING, including grenades.Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Playing GTA IV without a speed limiter is ****ing difficult.
Damn you, Mafia II and you ingenious invention! Seriously, every sandbox driving game should have that feature from now on. I'm sick of going 100 and slamming on the brakes half a block before I have to turn.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Not a lot at all. Basically windows 98 or newer, 500 mhz 700 recomm. 128 ram, 1.8 gb on hard drive and a 3d card. I used my 360 controller to drive the cars and used the keyboard and mouse for the rest. Mafia I is one of the greatest games ever made on the PC.Member of OS since Dec 2002 BKA amaizinblueComment
