Locked up on me again, I had gone out searching for the two fast cars I didn't have in my garage, the Walker Rocket and the ISW 508. Found the Rocket fairly quickly, but spent about an hour driving around looking for the 508, then freeze. Luckily the Rocket is easy enough to find (the Observatory is filthy with them), so I didn't lose much.

So, do you do any actual jobs for Derek and Mike (or whatever the guy's name is who runs the junk yard)? I'm on chapter 10 and every time I go none of them have anything for me.

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
So I have had nothing to do this entire week...so I already finished. Although it isn't a long story to start with I guess. Awesome ending. It was an amazing story, I felt bored/frustrated at times in fire fights because it was the same old same old almost each and every time...but other than that I was sucked in having tons of fun. I just wish there was multiplayer so it would lengthen the experience. One thing I read on IGN(the entire review minus this was entirely off...this game is in the 8-9 range for score imo) is that the city felt like as if it revolved around you...the city didn't feel alive. I'd have loved to have different random encounters...maybe on a rare occasion a group of greasers would start ramming into your car or try to mug you in an ally or a hobo wouldn't leave you alone begging for money and so on and so forth.Comment

I don't think so, but there is another mission later on in the game that can involve jobs for one of those guys. Now, more than everComment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
There is one little issue with the game. I've watched most of the game's walkthrough and really liked it! Just something about the music: When it's 1951, you can hear songs from the mid-late 50's, which weren't even written in 1951. But I understand that they wanted to create a real 1950's atmosphere, so the songs aren't based on the exact year. Not a game killer for sure(!), just a small detail.
I wish I could play the game, but my machine couldn't handle the demo well enough. I'll probably buy a PS3 around the holidays or early next year. I can't wait to play it!My Specs:

GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Ran into an interesting glitch, I was picking the lock of a car on the passenger side, someone came up and drove it off, I finish picking the lock, the camera centered on the car driving down the street, passenger door opened, driver bailed out and now I am driving a car with no driver. I have no idea what will happen when I exit.
Edit: After driving a short bit, my seated body flew back and rejoined the car.Last edited by Burns11; 08-27-2010, 04:54 PM.Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
This game has chapter select in it right? So after you beat the game can you select a chapter and replay that level to get trophies/achievements as well as find all the collectibles? I was just wondering if this was a type of game that you need to have everything done and collected before the final level. I'm getting the game tomorrow.
Thanks.

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
Ok folks. Whats the deal here if I may ask. I read some reviews on the game that stated it wasn't that good. Says it tricks you into thinking its open world/sandbox but its really not. Is that correct?
Its purely mission driven with no real side things to do, and the city is pretty sterile.
I bought the game a couple of days ago but I haven't opened it yet because I'm thinking about taking it back after looking over the reviews. I dont want to crack this bad boy open if its garbage ya know. Cant trade it in where I'm at. Once I open it I'm stuck with it.Last edited by TheCreep; 08-27-2010, 08:20 PM.Comment

Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)
You know what man, its kind of strange. I bought the latest GTA and Red Dead revolver and NEVER completed either game. Side missions did get repetitive and I pretty much just stopped playing those games all together.
I dont know, it seems like ever since those options were introduced in these type of games, its an absolute must for me to atleast know that the extra stuff is there ya know, even though I barely touch the ****. Weird I guess.Comment
