    Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)

I've been a robbery spree with this game lately. Robbing all the stores I can :P. I have no idea why, I bought a suit to get out of the leather jacket look and take a more "mafia" look.

And I just decided to rob it after that.

Overall this game is really fun, and I've only made it to chapter 5 so far.

Got this game on Wednesday i think from Gamefly and am on Chapter 7 or 8. Really loving the game. I don't want it to end so I took a break from it to play Metro 2033. Once I beat Mafia II I am definitely going to play through it again for collectibles and all.

Game goes by really quick that is for sure. You can do the 1st 3 missions in like 30 minutes.

Then 5 through 10 flows really quick. The last 3 missions are really the only long missions. And they are only long due to the huge number of enemies.

Game would have been better if they gave an incentive for dressing a certain way or driving a certain type of car. Or having your house decorated a certain way.

That is one thing I loved about Godfather 2 that I wish Mafia 2 had. In Godfather 2 people reacted to you according to the way you dressed.

Foot soldiers and goons dressed one way, people of power dressed differently according to their rank. Capos had their own dress code, so did enforcers and dons.
So you could easily tell who was who just by looking at what they had on.

Hopefully it Mafia 3 they could add that and allow you to become a don and start your own crew and build your empire. I really loved that aspect about Godfather 2.

          Re: Mafia II (PS3/360)

The more and more I play the more and more I like this game. I really wish it was 150 hours long and not 15. If this game had the online modes that GTA IV has, then I would prefer this game over GTA IV. One thing that keeps surprising me is how well this game looks. Some times the graphics are almost too life like to believe. If GTA V can top this game's graphics and story, then we;ll be in for a treat again from Take Two.

Hopefully they do release a Mafia III that builds off this, but keeps the realism in it, thats one of my favorite aspects of the game.

            DLC coming!

            Joe's Adventures:
Mafia II's third downloadable add-on is coming your way! Joe's Adventures stars Vito Scaletta's childhood friend Joe Barbaro, a brash and unpredictable wiseguy who loves to live the sweet life of money, fast cars, and faster women. When Vito gets sent to prison, Joe uncovers the truth behind his friend's sentence, and it sets the stage for his own story to unfold. This add-on content features new missions, new locations not seen before in Empire Bay, new clothing, new collectables, and more excellent music from the 40s and 50s. Stay tuned for more details on this upcoming downloadable content!
Joe's Adventures is the third story DLC in Mafia II. Joe's Adventure puts the player in control of Joe Barbaro, taking place in 1950, while his best friend Vito Scaletta is in prison. Joe uncovers the truth behind Vito's prison sentence and what's really going on in the Clemente Crime Family. Joe's Adventures continues the prodigious crime drama through the eyes of Joe Barbaro, Vito Scaletta's best friend, during the six years that Vito spends in prison. The DLC extends the original...

I might be the only one that still has this game, I'd imagine it got resold in droves, but I'll definitely give this a look.

I got this from Gamefly the other day and this is a blast to play so far. I am on Chapter 5 right now and I can't believe how fast this game flies by. At this rate I'm never going to get to Dead Rising 2, lol! I've actually been trying to collect the playboys through my first playthrough on Hard so I don't have to go back and get them again. I love the atmosphere and the addition of snow has been cool and a nice change. For some reason so far I'm not too sucked into the story which I'm not too sure if its good or bad. I plan to get the platinum on this one.

I am surprised how many OS'ers liked this game. I rented last night and after RDR, Uncharteds, even Saboteur...this game is pretty ho hum. To me the controls were clunky and I had a lot of screen tearing/blurring/inconsistency. Most of all, I just found it boring and I am usually a mafia slut.

WOW! Chapter 14 is balls hard at the warehouse trying to take out a guy (not naming him for spoiler reasons) that double crosses you. After several tries and hours of frustration, I beat this part. This game has one huge fault and that is checkpoints being so far apart. I hope the rest of Chapter 14 and 15 is not this hard.

15 isn't as hard as 14, but it has a part where the save points are spread out. If you're through 14 then you've seen the worst.

14 was bad, it made me at one point get ready to either just play on Easy and forget the platinum. It boggles my mind how much this game is easy for the most part and this one part is balls hard, then the last chapter from what your saying isn't bad.

On 15 you'll just have to be patient. You'll get a long stretch of enemies but it really won't be more than 3 or 4 at a time usually. The final boss is a little tough but not really, you just have to keep your eye up looking for enemies.

Thanks Kevin. Other than the stupid difficulty in Chpt 14, I really like this game a lot. Graphically it trounces many of the other titles which are similar in genre. I might keep it from GF for the dlc.
