Get this:

I borrowed my brother's copy of the game. I made it up to the 14th Chapter. Then, out of the blue, he reads a review of NBA 2K 11', and decided that since he was $20 short, Mafia II needed to be traded in!

My question is (keep in mind I don't have Gamefly):

Are the final 2 chapters worth a $10 rental? I had a lot of fun with the game, but I can't say I truely miss not having it. The story is exceptional. I just don't know if an hour of game time is worth the money. What would you guys do if you were me?

Ohh, wow. I read all the complaints about Chapter 14 but Im about ready to just chuck the game in the garbage.

I can get to the warehouse just fine but was always getting killed right away thanks to the precision of Derrick so I decided to change things up. Now I grab the car and drive it straight into the warehouse, all the way to the back so Derrick cant throw the molotov cocktails at me any longer but then its so damn dark I cant even see anything. Of course they can see me just fine but I cant see them apparently. Platinum or not, games are supposed to be fun and enjoyable, and this game isnt that.

Ok, so this is really starting to become a joke. So I drive the car into the back, run over a guy in the process and he proceeds to get up and shoot me somehow, apparently getting mowed down by a car doesnt even hurt him. Second time I drive in and hit him multiple times, this time he gets around the car and two guys get in with me, hang out the side windows and apparently are shooting me somehow even though they are clearly shooting the wall, yet I die again. This is driving me nuts, this level on hard, is beyond a irritating.

This is what I did:

I ran to the back of the warehouse, shotgun killed the two guys back there. That is the easy part. From then, I would get to the edge of the bottom of the second level. Derrick sends a couple of guys down the steps that you should be facing. Easy kills. Once I figured all the goons were dead and it was just Derrick, I would run around in the open, but would try to time being behind a pole when Derrick chucked the molotovs. Usually this made him hit the pole in front of him, causing him to catch on fire. From then, if you can see him the shoot him. If not, I ran up the stores and finished him off. It took me about 5 tries.

Appreciate the reply. Now Im reading that there is a glitch involving driving your car into the water there and when it respawns you the game will allow you to go up the stairs outside and enter Derricks office, giving you good cover. I will give it a shot here in a few and see how it works and report back.

yeah that way works. I tried this out after reading about it after I beat the game. It was more fun doing it that way than the real way. That chapter was a pain.

It did work, thankfully. Now Im at the next part and just having fits as it seems Joe isnt very aggressive as he lets guys run right by him allowing them to shoot me without me even seeing them coming. I know thats not very specific but boy I cant wait for this game to be over as Im starting to lose the desire to keep at it, especially with RDR and AC sitting there waiting to be played.

I swore to myself I'd never sell this game, because I REALLY liked it, but I needed GT5 money so now it's gone.

If they release Joe's Adventure on a disc like R* did with Red Dead Undead Nightmare, I'll pick it up. Or I'll rebuy this game way down the line when it's megacheap.

Any tips at getting the wanted poster located at the top of the building, other then keep trying? I seem to be close but never quite close enough and end up slamming into the side of the building or launching off the opposite side of the roof. Thanks to anyone that has some advice.

I finished the story a few days ago and absolutely adored it. I desperately wish that they had opened up the city to exploration a bit more though. Is there even a day/night cycle or is the lighting locked to the levels?

If this game had let me actually live and exist in the city instead of funneling me through the levels then it would probably be one of my favorites this generation. I'm definitely going to try the DLC but reading online its frustrating to find out that the DLC is probably side missions originally intended for Vito that have been repurposed.

Infact the amount of content cut from this game appears to be huge. Everything from trains to side missions. Like BlueNGold I'm looking for impressions of the DLC, is it worth it guys? I've heard that they feature pretty thin text based briefings?

I didn't like the Jimmy ones and never got the Joe one. The Joe one looks better though.

What didn't you like about the Jimmy DLC aukevin?
