Is it possible to do work on the side for the guy down at the docks and the guy at the scrap yard?

I tried going back to the scrap yard at the end of ch.5 and the guy told me he didn't have any work. Or is it maybe something where the story will bring you back to those places later on? Just seems kind of odd to leave the markers as well as let you go inside and talk if there's nothing available.

I completely disagree with your view. AC2 had some of the best facial work and mouth syncing I have personally seen in a console video game. Mafia II is adaquate, but the facial expressions, and especially mouth movement isn't on the same level by any measure.

I know its not completely like GTA IV, but there are similarities and most people who like the GTA type games would typically like this, or at least would be willing to try it.

So you would recommend it? The only thing holding me back is the lack of side activities and the 15 hour story.

Come to think of it I remember something about crushing cars at the junkyard. I don't know what it is, but I know it's something.

If story length is an issue, you could just rent it. I love it, I would recommend it, but if that's a big issue for you renting is always an option.

Yeah, I agree that the facial work is lacking for sure. I was just talking about the overall look of the cut-scenes. For some reason they struck me as looking better than AC2.

Though I dunno... maybe I'm wrong. It's been a while since I've seen AC2 in action.

I am so tempted to buy this game right now, but it seems to lack re-playability. No online, co0op, or a good amount of side missions is keeping me from buying it. But the fact that its another Mafia game, is in the 40s/50s and the demo is so fun makes me want to buy it.

I can already see myself giving this game at least one more play through, as well as giving the PS3 DLC a go too.

And like I said earlier, I'm not big on going back to find hidden items, but the playboy thing is probably something that will have me back replaying certain chapters.

Yeah this game will be worth a replay for me. I'm digging this game a lot. It has a few minor quirks but the story for me is on point. Never played a game like this and I am loving it. I would recommend this game

If so, I got this game for the 360, haven't opened it yet, but may swap my copy for the PS3 version at Gamestop. Will they let me swap versions if I don't have the receipt for it? I mighta sorta gotten it through Amazon...

Yes, it's PS3 only... and you can do that at Best Buy too without a receipt. Just say it was a gift and they got it for the wrong system. You'll be allowed to swap for the PS3 version as long as it's unopened.

You can take cars to the car crusher for money, but its not like a real job like stealing cars for the guy. I crushed one of the cars in the junkyard and got 400 bucks haha.

Reading around, right now there is a lot of reports of random freezing on both the PS3 and 360 versions of the game. Hopefully this is something that could be fixed via a patch.
