If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Cole annoyed me at first but I like him more now. The homicide partner is terrible though, I hate that guy more and more each time I do a case.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Becuase then the side missions wouldn't have been doable. The side missions take place all over the city and you need to drive there. Would you have been happy if you just warped to the side missions? No you would have complained about that.
It is ok that you don't like the game. I am just trying to tell you that you are comparing this game to other sandbox games and it simply is not a sandbox game.
I mean how ridiculous would the game be if you could just run around and kill people? It just doesn't fit.
Makes sense now with the side missions so I guess having a virtual city isn't bad in that regard.
Running around and killing people is just an option. In fact, when I play games like GTA or SR2, I try to drive as realistic as possible. Stop lights, parallel parking and all. Every so often however, I just feel like mowing down pedestrians. Sometimes I just wanna shoot things to kill the time. How can this option not fit. Just like any sandbox game, you have a city, you have a car and you have a gun. Now have at it.
If LA Noire was like the last sentence I described then you can instantly call it a sandbox game. Sandbox to me means that you can go where you want, do what you want to do and tackle missions as you see fit. LA Noire is all but the ladder so its easy to compare.
I like a good adventure game but if you're gonna make an adventure game with driving and guns, then you better make good use of them. Every time I fight or shoot in this game, it leaves me yearning for more.
I'm probably gonna go home and play this despite how much I've talked about it today. I dont like to completely write off a game on initial feelings so I'm still slightly interested.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Except your a detective for the LAPD and not some criminal. Being able to go on a murderous rampage does not fit in this game, and Rockstar came out awhile ago and warned people that you wouldn't be able to do that, and that this wasn't your normal "sandbox" game.
Putting in the ability to run around and slaughter innocent people, despite being a LAPD detective, would be adding things that don't fit into the game just to satisfy a select group of fans.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Can't say that I feel bad for the people who expect features that were never advertised to be in the game.
L.A. Noire is depicting what it was like in LA during the horribly bloody time in 1947 in that city. Personally, I love the whole premise behind it and from what very limited I have gotten to play of the game...*damn you Walmart* it is exactly what it is advertised to be.
I find the structure to be more interesting than the "go kill people" model. Plus this game sets up beautifully to create multiple DLC.Too Old To Game Club

True dat. True dat. I agree with you. Nothing is worse for a dev than trying to cater to and satisfy all crowds.
I was also a cop in Streets of LA but I was able to bust *** at will. I'm just saying....being a dirty cop certainly isn't new.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Fun Fact: As far as I can tell, the word "sandbox" is not used anywhere on LA Noire's official site.
Nor is it on the back of the box.
You're assuming features based off it being a Rockstar game.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
