Couldn't agree more. I'm a case or two in on the Arson desk and I haven't felt compelled to play the game in four or five days. After homicide, the game just fell off for me...and I loved the first few desks.

The story kind of lost me when....(end of Vice desk)

That's what I thought too. The rest felt like the scraps left over and they said **** it, put it in at the end. Things felt forced after homicide like they weren't sure what to do.

Yeah I knew about those movies before hand and seen em. That's why I was so interested in those cases really. At least one of them lived up to my expectations.

I finished Homicide, went back and did all the street crimes I could, and haven't done anything else but cruise around the city.

I think part of me wishes that the game was just he cases minus the open world they spent time creating. In a way I feel like it's a wasted city like Mafia II.

I did the same thing you did, but got $37.50 in credit at Gamestop. 40% bonus plus the extra 10%.

I put it towards NCAA 12. Well, for the PS3 at least. I will be hunting down the 360 copy (or if I can score a PS3 copy) early like I traditionally do.

I just wasn't into this game after spending more time with it.

I wish every case could be screwed up.

Sometimes you get lead in many directions then the criminal is automatically convicted during a cut scene.

It would not surprise me if they released DLC to add stuff to the city, kind of like what they did for Red Dead when they added poker and stuff to multiplayer.

Maybe add a drive in theater that could be like the Red Dead movie thing, things like going to bars and drinking. You could add in Bowling, pool, I even seen a golf type area in the city. I know a lot of you will say things like that aren't needed because this isn't suppost to be a Sandbox game in the since of Red Dead and Gta and I do agree however adding it as DLC for those who want some added stuff to do as end game content is just fine with me.

I even seen shoe shine chairs with a shiner beside them but nothing happens when you sit in them. I don't know why but that annoyed me.

I also was thinking about this game the other day and thought about a idea about a multiplayer mode that if they made right could be a lot of fun.

You will have a system of 2v2, 3v3, etc. One team would be criminals with the underground and gang as backup while the other team would be detectives with the Police and dispatch as their backup.

Well the criminals would have a couple of options for crimes like murder, theft, kidnapping, drugs, etc, that they could choose to do and the detectives would have to figure out what happened in a certain amount of time. The criminals would also have to decide about their time management. Will you waste time removing finger prints, killing witnesses, getting rid of evidence, paying off people, enlisting help, etc. The more you do at the crime scene the harder it is for the detectives to solve but at the same time the criminals will have a lot less time to make their escape.

The detective are the same way, the more evidence they collect the more time they will have to catch the criminals but will also be hampered by allowing the criminals to make more plans.

It is like a rock, paper, scissors game mode where everything you do has a cause effect situation.

The end of cases could result in a shoot out, criminals getting away and/or the detective solving the Case and locking up the criminals.

I know there are things that would have to be worked out but you get the idea above.

Even simple multiplayer modes like car chases would show off the city and also add some more value.

Dont get me wrong, I love this game. The ideas above are just ideas.

Edit: Dang I wrote a lot...

                  Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)

After 23 hours and 20 minutes of game play I finally finished the story mode. All I can say is L.A. Noire is what I thought it was going to to be. Which is a great ride & a fantastic story. I loved every last second of it and actually thought it was refreshing to not have to worry about mundane task like collecting flowers, killing 200 coyotes or have to worry about collecting cash to buy certain weapons, etc. It sounds like a lot of people were expecting this to be GTA even though it was mentioned early & often that it wasn't anything like it. So, I'm not sure why some people were upset or surprised.

I will agree that once Homicide was over I felt a bit of a lull in the game also. However, once Arson picked up I loved how everything played out. I also can see where some may think that it's a bit repetitive. However, I see that complaint in almost every single game thread. I remember it being stated in RDR, Uncharted II, etc. so I take it with a grain of salt. As they say different strokes for different folks. But, like I said I loved this game. It's easily the front-runner for game of the year. However, it will face some tough competition this fall, with UC3 and Batman AC. I don't think L.A. Noire will hold on to the one spot but, it will definitely finish in the Top 3-5, IMO.

I hate when people give up on something when they are so close to reaching a huge part of the story. The Vice desk is huge if you are interested into how the main character will change and the way people view him. Making it past the Vice desk would've immersed you into a lot of drama building up to the climax and the end,

It's quite obvious this game appeals to a certain group of gamers,I also find it funny how people say it's repetitive....do me a favor people....name ONE game that ISN'T repetitive.

I've seen so many comparisons to GTA,it's not even funny....since when is it a crime to have an open world story driven game?? Mafia 2 did the same thing, and got slammed for the same things as this game..."there's nothing to do",I want to cause mayhem"..."the open world is pointless"...are people serious with these complaints?? here's your solution...GO PLAY GTA then.

I hope that this type of game sticks around, beit in the form of another LA Noire or Mafia 2...because believe it or not, some of us enjoy an open world setting without the boring and pointless side missions to "extend the game".

Lemme guess, this type of game only appeals to the "sophisticated" gamers, right? The rest of us who found the game a bit overrated, and dull aside from the main cases are all "IGS."

No one is comparing it to GTA pal. I never said I wanted it like GTA. All I said is that it would be great to have more to do, so it doesn't feel like all I am doing is the main cases, then the game is over. Nothing left to do after that. That's pretty limited IMO.

I don't get why some here get so bent out of shape that others aren't completely enamoured with the game.

Your last part is the biggest gripe I have. Massive, beautiful game world...and it goes to total waste cause it's extremely linear. Linear is fine by me, but I don't get the linear focus when the game world is so massive and could be explored with more things to do. I don't feel like the cases took me all over the place to really see everything.
