I don't get why some here get so bent out of shape that others aren't completely enamoured with the game.
why am I not surprised you would reply to my post....I just love how you can take what I said and spin it in such a way as I was only pointing you out.

Give it a rest already, your underlying insults are uncalled for,and you know that's the only way you can "attempt" to make any kind of point.

People may not have directly compared it GTA, but suggesting inclusions of random side activities is one in the same. I would rather the developers put more work into a story and its characters than to include pointless activities like bowling, fight clubs, or racing. I commend Team Bondi for doing that and I hope others follow their lead.

The game is limited because it is a linear, story driven game with gameplay decisions that make sense in the context of the game. The story ends and that's it. Going around LA after the end would feel odd to me considering the ending. Its not like you can't go into free roam anyway.

They also added 40 side missions that are pointless. Go here and chase down suspect. Shoot him and all that can be done in under a minute. Also almost all of the cases that I played end with the suspect again running away. I'm sorry but I feel this game is extremely limited. They idea behind the game is great. The landscape is beautiful and the idea is there. It just falls incredibly short for me.

It's almost like the opinion here is if you don't like the game you don't "get it".

I think everyone is blind to the negatives people have too. I keep seeing the same it's not GTA. Who ever said they thought this would be GTA?

I enjoyed the street crimes as I thought they were a nice distraction from the cases and added fun splashes of action throughout the game.

GTA is being brought up because people want this game to be a non-linear, sandbox game and that's not what it is at all nor did it intend on being that.

Or maybe some just didn't enjoy the game?

Personally, I quite enjoyed the street crimes. Were they short? Sure. Were they rather simplistic? Absolutely. But they were often dripping with humor and were an entertaining bit of diversion.

Maybe add a drive in theater that could be like the Red Dead movie thing, things like going to bars and drinking. You could add in Bowling, pool, I even seen a golf type area in the city. I know a lot of you will say things like that aren't needed because this isn't suppost to be a Sandbox game in the since of Red Dead and Gta and I do agree however adding it as DLC for those who want some added stuff to do as end game content is just fine with me.

I even seen shoe shine chairs with a shiner beside them but nothing happens when you sit in them. I don't know why but that annoyed me.
There's a ton of stuff that isn't even used other than being film reel or badge related.

They already have a drive-in theatre for example. However I doubt the chief or people would be pleased you're taking in a movie on LAPD time while there's criminals to catch. You're a cop, you're on a case. The criminal flees the country while you're off watch Odd Man Out followed by a round of mini-golf?

I believe the shoe shine things are for incognito purposes.

I got an idea, they could make a game where you have friends and you could go bowling, attend comedy clubs, or go on dates with women. Then you could go steal cars and create mayhem and kill everyone you see and have the cops come after you. Then you could go to gang hideouts and kill all of the gang members. And you could hunt stray dogs and cats with achievements to kill a cat with a knife before it kills you....

oh wait...it has been done before

I'm trying to decipher what you are trying to say.

But as far as insults go...I guess you have clean hands, huh? "IGS" is actually an endearing way to describe people who don't see things the way you do. My "attempt" at making any relevant points is lost on you.

And as we all know...the over use of emoticons only goes to strengthen ones argument.

I understand what you are saying in regards to the story driven aspect, and character development of the game. Maybe I expected more though. I didn't really expect to walk away from this game feeling as if my hands were tied. When I saw a huge, open world, I expected more I guess. One thing I didn't expect was this to be GTA, and I never once said I wanted it to be, or suggested that. For some odd reason anyone here who is completely sold on this game can't take the fact people may have criticisms of the game.

One poster said that since this is a R* title, that maybe R* did what they know best, and that was a GTA style open world, but minus any and everything that has ever been included in an open world. If they want to be linear, that's fine. Linear games such as Heavy Rain for example didn't have this massive world to play in. It was linear, so the world you interacted with was limited. I almost prefer that because I don't have this nawing sense that I should be able to do more, but I can't...because all there is to do is the main cases, and nothing else.

If there was ever a case for DLC price scaling this was probably it.
I got 40 hours out of this. 2 hour DLC that's $10 wouldn't seem very good in comparison.

Meh some people liked it others didn't.

I for one am loving it so far and i think because I've only had enough time to play it occasionally since I got it probably works in it's favour and keeps it from feeling repetitive to me.

Can't wait to get more time to play it!
